Woody Marks ($5,400) has been seeing more and more work each week, and the rookie running back had his breakout performance in the Texans’ 26-0 win over the Titans this past Sunday, erupting for 27.9 FPTS. Marks rushed 17 times for 69 yards and a touchdown, and he caught four of his five targets for 50 yards and another touchdown.
While logging 56.3% of the snaps, Marks handled 56.7% of the running back carries for the Texans — including the team’s lone red zone rush — and he saw a target on an elite 36% of his routes, while running a route on 38% of his team’s drop backs.
While all of these numbers easily set season-highs for Marks, Nick Chubb logged a season-low 42.3% of the snaps, and he turned 15 touches into just 8.2 FPTS. For the season, Marks is now producing a team-high 0.43 FPTS per snap, compared to just 0.3 for Chubb.
While many didn’t anticipate it to happen this quickly, Marks moving ahead of the lackluster Chubb in the Texans’ running back room was inevitable, and Marks must be viewed as Houston’s No. 1 back going forward. This backfield should be around a 70/30 split this Sunday vs. the Ravens in favor of Marks, and the rookie should see around 20 touches in this excellent spot.
Baltimore is giving up the most touchdowns to running backs (7) and the ninth-most yards per rush overall this season (4.6). Plus, the Texans are a 2.5-point favorite for this game on DraftKings Sportsbook, which is another encouraging sign for Marks, as Houston could heavily rely on its ground game as a favorite.
For Week 5, Marks is a locked-in RB2 for season-long leagues. He is an awesome value play for DFS on DraftKings at only $5,400, which could get overlooked with a ton of appealing running back plays on the slate.
