Isiah Pacheco ($5,500) struggled at the end of last season and that poor form carried over into last week’s season opener vs. the Chargers. The running back failed to score more than 4.4 FPTS in his final six games of last season and going against Los Angeles in Week 1, Pacheco finished with only 4.8 FPTS. The 26-year-old rushed five times for 25 yards and caught two of his three targets for three yards.
After an injury-free summer, one would have expected Pacheco to see a large workload in Week 1, but that wasn’t the case. He only logged 50% of the snaps and he and veteran Kareem Hunt both saw five carries. Their usage in the passing game was nearly identical as well, as Pacheco garnered three targets on 21 routes, while Hunt saw three targets on 17 routes.
Andy Reid and the Chiefs’ coaching staff clearly still trust Hunt at age 30, and they still don’t believe Pacheco deserves a featured role. Plus, Kansas City threw the ball at the highest clip in the league in Week 1. That could happen again in Week 2’s Super Bowl rematch with the Eagles, as the Chiefs are 1.5 point underdogs for this matchup on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Philadelphia’s elite defense held Pacheco to just 2.2 FPTS in the Super Bowl, so he should be in store for another quiet outing this Sunday. Over the last two seasons, Pacheco is producing a mediocre 0.21 FPTS per snap.
