Romeo Doubs ($4,000 Showdown) had a solid performance in the Packers’ Week 1 win over the Lions. The veteran caught two of his four targets for 68 yards (8.8 FPTS). Doubs handled an 18.2% target share — including a team-high two red zone targets and one target over 20 yards — while leading the Packers’ receivers with a 74% route rate.
After Doubs, the next highest route rate for a Green Bay wideout was Matthew Golden ($6,400 Showdown) at 57%, but he only saw two targets. The rookie turned that low target share into just 16 yards (3.6 FPTS). It was encouraging to see Golden rank second in routes for this Packers’ receiver room right out the gate and his role will likely continue to grow as the season progresses, but Doubs should continue to see more volume in Week 2 vs. the Commanders, as the more established veteran in this offense. This clearly makes Doubs the better fantasy asset for this contest, especially for DFS on DraftKings, as Doubs costs a significant $2,400 less than Golden for Thursday’s Showdown slate.
Green Bay is facing a Washington defense that held Russell Wilson to just 4.2 yards per pass attempt in Week 1, but the 36-year-old struggling in his Giants’ debut in a road matchup vs. the Commanders wasn’t overly surprising. Last season, Washington gave up the 11th-most yards per pass (6.8) and the Packers boast a high 26.5-point implied team total for Thursday’s matchup vs. the Commanders on DraftKings Sportsbook, so there is certainly plenty of hope of this being a plus spot for Doubs. The receiver has produced double-digit FPTS in five of his last 11 starts and Doubs has a ceiling near 20 FPTS.
