UPDATE: Guerrero Jr. left Monday’s game due to left hamstring tightness.

There’s been no mention of when the injury occurred, but in third inning, Guerrero made a spectacular play at first base, performing the splits to register an out.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. was removed in the fifth inning of Monday’s game against the Pittsburgh Pirates for an undisclosed reason. Ty France was the substitute.

In 543 plate appearances this season, Guerrero Jr. is slashing .300/.398/.500 with 21 home runs, 83 runs, 68 RBI and five stolen bases. The walk rate is 13%, strikeout rate is only 14% and the ISO is .200. He’s been entrenched in the two or three spot in the lineup all season. If he’s out for an extended period of time, it’s an obvious huge blow to the Blue Jays’ lineup.

France has been with the Blue Jays since August 1st. Since then, he’s racked up 41 plate appearances and slashed .351/.415/.486 with an average exit velocity of 91.1 mph. The walk rate is 2.4% while the strikeout rate is 17.1%. He’s posting an ISO of .135. The BABIP is an elevated .433, though. On the season, the slash is .261/.329/.370 with a .109 ISO in 428 plate appearances.
