Outright winner picks for the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson

By: Grace McDermott

The 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson tees off from TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas. The field features two-time winner KH Lee, reigning champion Jason Day, and hometown hero Jordan Spieth. The tournament will run from Thursday, May 2 through Sunday, May 5 with a cut after 36 holes on Friday.

Here are our top picks to win it all. All odds are courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Si Woo Kim +2200

Si Woo Kim earned a T2 at the Byron Nelson last year, and has set himself up to go all the way this week. Kim has made 12 straight cuts and five straight top-30 finishes heading into the Byron Nelson. He leads the field in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green over the last three months, and ranks second in total strokes gained.

Tom Hoge +2800

Hove leads this week’s field in total strokes gained over last three months. He also sits atop the rankings in Strokes Gained: Approach. While Hoge missed the cut at the Zurich Classic last week, he has seven top-20 finishes thus far in 2024 and should be a competitor into the weekend in McKinney. His best finish at the Byron Nelson came in 2022 at T17.

Maverick McNealy +5000

McNealy ranks fifth in the Byron Nelson field in total strokes gained. While he has struggled at TPC Craig Ranch in the past, 2024 has been a solid year for him — he finished T6 at Waste Management and T9 at THE PLAYERS. While McNealy’s results have been up and down this year, he has been consistently improving off the tee and could be a solid underdog candidate this week.
