Two heavy-hitting knockout specialists, Derrick Lewis and Tallison Teixeira, are facing off in the Main Event of Saturday’s UFC Fight Night in Nashville, Tennessee. Check out my best bets for Saturday’s UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Teixeira right here.
Tallison Teixeira To Win By KO/TKO/DQ (-185)
Teixeira is a -298 favorite against Lewis on DraftKings Sportsbook, so let’s look at a better option in the Main Event. Getting Teixeira to win by KO/TKO/DQ at -185 isn’t the best value, but it is worth it.
This is the biggest fight of Teixeira’s career and a big step up in competition. Even though Lewis is 40 years old, he still has one-punch knockout power and can finish anyone in a split second.
Teixeira has the physical advantages in this matchup, standing four inches taller (6’7″ vs. 6’3″) with a four-inch edge in reach (83″ vs. 79″). Teixeira has won his previous seven fights by first-round knockout and overwhelms his opponents with his combination of power and length. Three of Lewis’s last five losses were by knockout, as he doesn’t have the best chin. Lewis does have a ton of experience, but that won’t be able to help him if Teixeira lands a devastating combination.
Steve Garcia Moneyline (-125)
Garcia is still somehow unranked in the UFC’s featherweight division, but that will quickly change if his win streak increases to six. He has knocked out five straight opponents and has won his previous nine fights via KO/TKO.
Kattar is a good striker in his own right, but is currently on a brutal four-fight losing streak. His last victory came against Giga Chikadze in January 2022. This is a good matchup for Garcia, as he is the taller fighter (6’0″ vs. 5’11”) with a larger reach (75″ vs. 72″) while being a more efficient striker.
If Garcia pressures Kattar, it is unlikely he will be able to keep up with him. Kattar has only been knocked out once in the UFC, so it could be a challenge for Garcia to get the finish. It is wise for Garcia not to rely on the knockout and focus on winning each round.
