The Reds and Red Sox were playing two games on Wednesday, due to resuming a game from the prior night. In that early game, Spencer Steer launched the second pitch over the Green Monster.
Unfortunately, in the seventh inning, Steer got hit in the hand by a pitch. He remained in the game and was set to start the second game of the night, but was eventually scratched late from the lineup.
Steer was slotted to play first base and bat fifth in the order. Christian Encarnacion-Strand will man first base and bat eighth in the lineup.
