MLB Picks: Player Props and Team Props for Monday, June 30, 2025
Cincinnati Reds at Boston Red Sox total strikeouts over 20.5 -125
This isn’t typically a market I target, but I can’t resist when we have a Chase Burns vs. Garrett Crochet matchup on deck. Both the Reds and Red Sox rank inside the top 10 in overall strikeout rate, with the Red Sox sitting at 24.1% (3rd) and the Reds at 23.2% (7th). Burns, who debuted last week against the Yankees, struck out eight batters over five innings, showcasing the same strikeout dominance he displayed in the minors, where he posted a 12.1 K/9 over 66 innings.
Crochet has been missing bats all season, maintaining an impressive 11.1 K/9 across 109.1 innings. Given the elite strikeout rates on both sides, we should expect plenty of punchouts in what’s projected to be a low-scoring game, with the total set at 7.5.
Vinnie Pasquantino 2+ total bases +135 vs. Seattle Mariners
George Kirby takes the mound for the Mariners tonight, but he hasn’t looked like the reliable starter we’ve seen in the past. Through seven starts and 36.2 innings, Kirby carries a 5.40 ERA, with a 4.18 xERA and a 4.50 FIP. While he’s struggled overall, left-handed hitters have been his biggest issue. They’ve posted a .421 wOBA against him, hit six of the seven home runs he’s allowed, and contributed to a 6.40 FIP.
Pasquantino matches up well here, especially against Kirby’s primary pitches—sinker, four-seam fastball, and slider. He owns at least a .338 wOBA and a .190 ISO against each of them, which makes me really like this prop, particularly at +135.
New York Yankees at Toronto Blue Jays over 4.5 runs through first five innings -105
It might not look like it on paper, but I think we’re in for a high-scoring game early between the Blue Jays and Yankees. A Carlos Rodón–Max Scherzer matchup doesn’t immediately scream offense, but I believe that’s what we’ll see tonight.
Rodón has been excellent, no doubt—but the Blue Jays have posted solid numbers against his primary pitches. Against his four-seam fastball, the expected lineup holds a .331 wOBA and a .147 ISO. Even against his slider, which has been particularly effective, the Jays have a combined .404 wOBA and a .194 ISO.
As for Scherzer, he’ll be making just his third start of the season after an extended stint on the injured list. In his last outing against the Guardians, he gave up three runs on six hits, with four strikeouts and three walks over five innings. This matchup will be his toughest so far, facing a lineup that collectively owns a .376 wOBA and a .260 ISO against the four-seam fastball.
Good luck with these MLB picks tonight!
