Jannik Sinner vs. Luca Nardi prediction, pick for Wimbledon

Jannik Sinner is seeking his first-ever Wimbledon title, starting with Luca Nardi in the first round.

Let’s preview the match through the lens of the DraftKings Sportsbook.

Jannik Sinner vs. Luca Nardi preview

Jannik Sinner is the top-ranked men’s player in the world and is looking to win his first Wimbledon title. Despite being the top-ranked player in the world, Sinner is trailing Carlos Alcaraz in Grand Slam titles. Alcaraz is the back-to-back defending champion at Wimbledon and just defeated Sinner in an all-time great thriller in the French Open Final. The Australian Open is the only place where Sinner has won two Grand Slam titles, winning his third at the US Open. All three of Sinner’s Grand Slams have come on hard surfaces and he needs to prove he can win on grass or clay if he wants to get into that next level in terms of his legacy. Sinner is still young with a lot of tennis ahead of him, but Alcaraz will be a tough challenge for him for his entire career. A win at Wimbledon this year would prove that Sinner is on the same level as Alcaraz when it comes to Grand Slam competition.

Before he can even start thinking about Alcaraz in a potential final, Sinner needs to take down Luca Nardi in the first round. Nardi is just 21 years old and a fellow Italian. This is the sixth consecutive Grand Slam that Nardi has qualified for, but he is yet to win a Grand Slam match. Nardi has pulled off an incredible upset before, however. In 2023, he became the lowest-ranked player to ever beat Novak Djokovic in a Masters or Grand Slam event. After defeating the at-the-time No. 1 player in the world, Nardi skyrocketed into the world’s top 100. It would be an upset of epic proportions, but Nardi is hoping to take down his fellow countryman and get his second career victory over a World No. 1.

Sinner vs. Nardi pick, best bet

Jannik Sinner should be able to dominate Luca Nardi. The two young Italians have never faced off head-to-head before, but Sinner is miles ahead of Nardi. At Roland Garros, Sinner did not drop a single set, including against Novak Djokovic, until the final against Carlos Alcaraz. At the Australian Open, which he won, he only dropped two sets the entire tournament. With the current state of Sinner’s game, it seems as if Carlos Alcaraz is the only player in the world who can test him. Sinner should be ruthless against Nardi and dispose of him comfortably in three sets. That is why my best bet for this match is for Sinner to win by at least 10 total games. There could easily be a 6-0 or 6-1 on the cards for one of these sets, which should then make it a comfortable line to cover for Sinner.

Best Bet: Jannik Sinner -9.5 Games (-150)
