In the top of the fifth inning of Wednesday’s game against the Kansas City Royals, Jazz Chisholm Jr. drew a walk and advanced to third base on a double. Unfortunately, he seemed to have injured his left groin on the play.

Prior to exiting, Chisholm went 0-for-1 with two walks. It’s the second straight game that Chisholm has been replaced early, as he suffered neck tightness on Tuesday. Oswald Peraza entered the game for Chisholm both times.

Chisholm has played in only 37-of-65 games for the Yankees. He has nine home runs, 21 runs, 24 RBI and 10 stolen bases. The walk rate is a career high 10.5% while the ISO is a more-than-respectable .238, but the strikeout rate is 30.3% and the slash is only .215/.316/.454. The BABIP is only .247, so he’s been a little unfortunate.

Peraza has appeared in 42 games and racked up 110 plate appearances. He’s slashing .172/.255/.313, but the BABIP is only .212. The walk rate is 9.1%, strikeout rate is 27.3% and the ISO is .141.
