What happened to Bo Bichette? Live updates 5/28/25

Bo Bichette has played in all 54 games for the Toronto Blue Jays this season, although he DH’d on Tuesday for the first time. On Wednesday, we found out why. Bichette has been dealing with lower back tightness and it will force him to miss his first game on Wednesday.

He is considered day-to-day.

Bichette had been leading off the batting order. On Wednesday against the Texas Rangers, Dalton Varsho will man the leadoff spot with Anthony Santander slotted into the two-hole. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had been batting second, but he will slide down to third. Ernie Clement will man shortstop and bat sixth.
