I’ve got my preview, prediction, and best bet for this Thursday night baseball game between the Astros and the Mariners already published here at DKN, which you can check out at the link. Having said that, we’re really only interested in the momentum along the arc Julio Rodriguez’s season has taken. A predictable lull in the early going, and a slower ramp-up this time in 2025. But so much reason for hope. Let’s evaluate his’s best prop bets on the market for tonight’s game between the Astros and the Mariners.

Here’s how I’ll play it. I’ll be pumping out these predictions for individual games all season, with plenty of coverage here on DraftKings Network. Follow my handle @dansby_edits for more betting plays.

Best Julio Rodriguez prop bet for Astros vs. Mariners tonight

Julio Rodriguez 2+ total bases (+105)

The Mariners’ star has hit two homers in his last three games. He’s seeing it. And Lance McCullers Jr., the Astros’ starter, carries a bloated 7.88 ERA and 2.13 WHIP across his three starts. His inability to command the strike zone has allowed a .538 OBP when facing batters the first time through the lineup. McCullers has issued walks to 16% of hitters this month, putting more men on base and making him vulnerable to a hitter like Rodriguez, who excels against righties.

Rodriguez’s recent form beyond the two home runs is compelling: he’s reached 2+ total bases in eight of his last 14 games. So he’s been clearing the threshold, but not at any great rate, even as his form is improving.

Still, he Astros’ pitching staff has struggled with command, ranking 27th in walks issued and allowing a high 3.65 runs/9. Additionally, Houston’s bullpen has been prone to allowing baserunners late in games, inheriting runners in high-leverage situations and conceding a 32% inherited score rate. This could give Rodriguez a prime opportunity to capitalize on any late-game scoring, which he did on Tuesday night.

Given McCullers’ struggles, the bullpen’s inconsistency, and Rodriguez’s ability to get on base, this bet has strong value. Look for Rodriguez to capitalize on the Astros’ shaky pitching, clearing 2+ total bases with ease. Punch it.

Best bet: Julio Rodriguez 2+ total bases (+105)
