After grabbing Game 1 on the road in the 2024 Western Conference Finals, the Dallas Mavericks will look to take control of the series as they face the Minnesota Timberwolves in Game 2 Friday evening. The Mavericks had a stellar showing in Game 1, winning despite a significant advantage for the Timberwolves in the three-point category. Dallas will look to maintain its defensive prowess of late as it goes for a second consecutive road win.
Here’s a look at some of our favorite Mavericks player prop bets to target for Game 2 Friday, with odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.
Kyrie Irving over 23.5 points (-102)
Irving flipped the script a bit in this series when it came to scoring. He took over in the first half against the Timberwolves, logging 24 points en route to 30 for the game. This is a stark contrast from his approach against the Clippers and Thunder, where he usually took over offensively in the second half. The Timberwolves will surely make some defensive adjustments but Irving is good enough to once again top this line.
P.J. Washington under 2.5 3-pointers (-185)
I’m going to keep fading Washington, who has reverted back to his usual shooting numbers after a three-game stretch against the Thunder. However, the forward is still getting enough volume from the perimeter to potentially go over this mark even if his shooting percentage doesn’t climb. Washington has hit at least two triples in the last eight games but I’ll predict him staying at that mark instead of topping it Friday.
Dereck Lively over 6.5 rebounds (-142)
After fading Lively for a few games, I’m now on board with his rebounding numbers. The Timberwolves are going to address this but Lively’s production is hard to ignore. He’s hit double-digit rebounds in three straight games now, and his timing on the offensive glass has been excellent for a rookie. He’s coming off the bench and wreaking havoc, which has pushed head coach Jason Kidd to have him in the game over Daniel Gafford down the stretch. I’ll take Lively to maintain his output on the glass tonight.
