I know why you’re here. You’re looking for a couple winning bets for tonight’s MLB slate.
Luckily for you, I’ve been mining the 1,000 of lines and props on the DraftKings Sportsbook to give you a couple of my best wagers on Tuesday evening. Let’s break them down and try and win some money.
MLB Bets Bets: Boston Red Sox at Toronto Blue Jays
Red Sox -1.5 (+124)
Things are getting dark fast for the Blue Jays and the schedule doesn’t get any easier on Tuesday. Toronto comes into this evening’s tilt with the Red Sox having lost seven of its last eight games — the lone win being a ninth-inning comeback off the struggling Devin Williams this past Friday. Now, the team will be tasked with facing Garrett Crochet. I don’t think that’s going to go very well.
Crochet has been dominant in his six outings to begin the season, maintaining a 1.95 ERA and a 2.25 FIP across 37.0 innings of work. The lefty has also been nearly unhittable in his three starts away from Fenway Park, surrendering just three earned runs over 20.1 innings and allowing opponents to combine for a microscopic .168 wOBA. It’s difficult to imagine the Blue Jays will be the lineup that puts a halt to this trend. Toronto is hitting .207 with a 71 wRC+ over the past two weeks, both of which stand as bottom-five marks in all of baseball.
Of course, Crochet being good won’t be enough to win this bet on its own. The Red Sox also need to score some runs, something the team has been doing quite well in recent games. In that same two-week span, Boston sits second in MLB in ISO (.220) and third in wOBA (.357), as the likes of Jarren Duran and Rafael Devers have come alive following early-season slumps. Meanwhile, Bowden Francis has been very home run prone in 2025, allowing 1.95 opponent long balls per nine. That’s translated into an ugly 6.29 xERA. You can see where I’m going with this.
MLB Best Bets: Los Angeles Angels at Seattle Mariners
Team Total: Mariners Over 9.5 Strikeouts Thrown (-140)
The key thing to know about this prop is that Angels strikeout a lot. Like, so much. In fact, over the past two weeks, only one team in MLB owns a strikeout rate above 28% and it’s Los Angeles, all the way up at 32.7%. In that same span, the Angels own baseball’s lowest contact rate (70.1%) and its highest swinging strike rate (14.5%), so you know there’s nothing about this that is a fluke. This is simply a team that loves to whiff.
So, why not just take Bryce Miller’s strikeout prop at 6.5? I mean, you certainly could, but this line feels a little high for a pitcher that’s managed five strikeouts or fewer in four of his five outings so far in 2025. Miller’s never been an elite strikeout artist. His 23.3% career strikeout rate is solid, but nowhere near the upper levels of the league.
Instead, we’ll bank on the group effort from the whole Mariners’ staff, hopefully one where Gabe Speier and Andres Munoz get involved. Remember, with the Angels the road team, no matter what happens, Seattle will need to get 27 outs on Tuesday night. Considering Los Angeles struck out at least 10 times in every game of their sweep at the hands of the Twins this past weekend, I think the Mariners can get this done pretty easily.
