Just seven matches remain in the Premier League season, and Liverpool — which leads Arsenal by 11 points despite losing to Fulham last weekend — is closing in on the trophy. There’s no drama at the bottom of the table, either, with Southampton officially relegated and Leicester City and Ipswich Town almost certain to follow suit.

I almost feel bad picking on Leicester City as much as I am, but it’s hard to avoid given that the Foxes have been arguably the Premier League’s most disappointing team this season. While the other two newly-promoted sides — Southampton and Ipswich Town — always looked set to make the drop from the start, it appeared as if Leicester had a decent chance of survival. Not only have the Foxes proven themselves unworthy of a place in the top flight, they’ve taken just eight points in the Premier League since October 25. In their seven-game losing streak, they’ve been outscored 21-0. Leicester has scored all of three Premier League goals since the start of January.
Not only have the Foxes found themselves in a hole often, those deficits have come early. Against Everton, they conceded in the first minute and were down 2-0 at the end of 30 minutes. Arsenal and Chelsea each left it late, but besides that, Leicester has found itself down at least 1-0 within the first half-hour in all of the other games of its losing streak. It’s hard to be as bad as the Saints in any metric, but the Foxes — with their 70 goals conceded in 31 matches — might just get that done.
The Seagulls have slowed down a little, having lost each of their last two matches — including a 3-0 decision to Aston Villa — but it wasn’t too long ago that they notched a four-match winning streak in the league before drawing with Manchester City. In three of the four wins, Brighton scored within the first half hour, and even in the Seagulls’ loss to Crystal Palace last weekend, Danny Welbeck netted an equalizer in the 31st minute.
Marcus Rashford 2+ Shots on Target (+110)
The former Manchester United wunderkind has reinvigorated his career since being loaned to Aston Villa at the end of the January transfer window. He’s paired with fellow January arrival Marco Asensio to prove a dangerous attacking combination, and though he’s only found the back of the net once in Premier League competition with the Villans, it’s impressive that he’s earned two Premier League starts and starts in all three of the team’s Champions League matches so far.
With Villa in a 3-1 deficit to French champions Paris Saint-Germain after the first leg in France, they’re going to need their best players fresh in order to make the comeback. Their most important forwards — still — are probably Morgan Rogers, Leon Bailey, and Ollie Watkins, so if Villa wants to have all of them at their best on Tuesday, Rashford should get the start. He hasn’t yet recorded two shots on target in either of his Premier League starts with Villa, but he did do so against Championship sides in both the fifth round and quarterfinals of the FA Cup.
Let’s be real — Southampton might be a below-average Championship team if it played in that division this season. The Saints have already been relegated from the top flight with seven weeks to go in the season, since they trail 17th-place Wolves by 22 points. Opponents have lashed 74 goals in against Southampton and recorded 200 shots on target, by far the most in the Premier League. Rashford has only gotten 27.3% of his shots on target in a Villa uniform in the Premier League, but against Championship sides in the FA Cup, that rate is 63.6%. Also, he managed two shots on target against the Saints in a 3-0 Red Devils win on September 14.
Bukayo Saka Anytime Goalscorer (+205)
I would’ve normally suggested that Saka might not play against the Bees, given Arsenal’s upcoming Champions League quarterfinal second-leg fixture on Wednesday against title holders Real Madrid, but given the 3-0 beating that the Gunners put on the Galacticos on Tuesday, their advancement through that competition might actually be more secure than the three points in this match. Three teams have previously come back from 3-0 deficits, so it’s not entirely out of the question that Real Madrid could advance, but Arsenal obviously feels good about its position. Why not prioritize the Premier League until Liverpool has officially lifted the trophy, especially since the Reds have demonstrated some vulnerabilities in recent weeks?
Despite missing more than three months with a hamstring injury, Saka still ranks second in the Premier League in assists, seven behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah. In his return from injury in Matchweek 30, Saka was subbed on in the 66th minute, touched the ball just 11 times, took only one shot…and scored. For a team desperately missing attacking talent after losing Kai Havertz to a hamstring injury that is expected to keep him out until the season’s final weeks, Saka’s return was a welcome development. He didn’t find the back of the net — or take a shot, for that matter — against the Galacticos in the first leg of the UCL quarterfinals, but Madrid’s defense is a lot better than Brentford’s. The Bees have allowed the sixth-most goals in the Premier League this season and allowed three to the Gunners on New Year’s Day.
Tottenham Hotspur Moneyline (+210)
Wolves are actually tied for the longest active winning streak in the top flight with Newcastle and Villa, having won each of their past three games, while Tottenham recently broke a string of three losses in four games by picking up a 3-1 win over Southampton last week. It’s obviously undeniable that Wolves’ form is better, even though they’ve actually recorded fewer points at home than Spurs have away this season.
But the talent differential also isn’t in question. Wolves’ best player is Matheus Cunha, a very solid Brazilian attacking midfielder who has notched 17 goal contributions in the Premier League so far this season, and Algerian defender Rayan Ait-Nouri has been good as well. But that talent pales in comparison to Dejan Kulusevski, Dominic Solanke, and the greatest Asian player of all time, captain Son Heung-min. Sure, on-paper talent isn’t the only thing that wins in the Premier League, and Spurs do have to prepare for next Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal match against Eintracht Frankfurt, but I don’t think they should be more than a 2:1 underdog to win a match against the 17th-best team in the top flight.
On the surface, Wolves’ winning streak looks impressive. But they picked up those points in a 2-1 win over the Saints in which they yielded the better chances, a narrow victory over an out-of-form West Ham unit in which they again got outplayed, and a game against Ipswich Town in which they needed a late comeback just to deny the Tractor Boys some momentum in the relegation fight. Spurs’ three losses, meanwhile, were justifiable: 1-0 defeats to City and Chelsea and a 2-0 decision against Fulham, all of which were fairly competitive throughout.
Andre Onana 4+ Saves (-110)
If this bet fails to hit, it’ll be because Newcastle has been too clinical this season at finding the back of the net. In fact, the Magpies rank sixth-to-last in terms of shots on goal, having recorded just 123 total shots on goal despite scoring 52 goals. That 0.39 goals per shot on target figure unsurprisingly leads the Premier League, and all credit goes to Newcastle’s leading man, Alexander Isak, for that one.
In their three-game winning streak — tied with Wolves and Villa for the longest active stretch in the league — the Magpies’ attack has been in good form, and they’ve been firing shots at will. In the Matchweek 30 win over Brentford, they attempted 21 shots — even if they only got four on target — and a week later, they managed to put five of their 16 on goal against Leicester. That accuracy might improve this weekend against United, which has allowed the seventh-highest shot-on-target percentage in the league.
Onana, meanwhile, isn’t a fantastic goalie, but he hasn’t been the main source of the Red Devils’ problems. His 69.8% save percentage this season ranks in the middle of the pack among Premier League goalkeepers. Onana has recorded four or more saves 14 times this season in all competitions, including five in last week’s 0-0 draw against City.
