Fastest 40-yard dash times at the 2025 NFL Combine

Earlier this week I wrote quite a bit about the 2025 40-yard dash at the NFL Combine. DraftKings Sportsbook had a few props—like whether or not Xavier Worthy’s 4.21 record would be broken, whether or not the fastest time will be o/u 4.255 seconds, etc.—for all the folks who might want to get in on some NFL Combine action. We were high on guys like Arian Smith and Isaiah Bond to potentially give that all-time 4.21 a decent chance.

Let’s see how our most exciting incoming rookies did on Combine Saturday, shall we?

Top ten fastest 40-yard dash times at the 2025 NFL Combine

As it would turn out, come the end of Saturday night, no one’s even sniffed Xavier Worthy’s record. No one’s even sniffed the line of 4.255 seconds on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Hey—how about them Hokies? Two of the five fastest players in this class are coming straight out of Blacksburg!

Fastest 40-yard dash times:

  1. Matthew Golden, WR, Texas – 4.29 seconds (he outshined his own teammate, Bond, who guaranteed he’d beat the 4.21 record today)
  2. D’Onte Thornton, WR, Tennessee – 4.30 seconds
  3. Bhayshul Tuten, RB, Virginia Tech – 4.32 seconds
  4. Chimere Dike, WR, Florida – 4.34 seconds
  5. Jaylin Lane, WR, Virginia Tech – 4.35 seconds
  6. Arian Smith, WR, Georgia – 4.36 seconds
