The Minnesota Timberwolves added Anthony Edwards ($9,600) to the injury report ahead of tonight’s matchup with the Washington Wizards. Edwards is officially listed as questionable with an illness.
He also was listed as questionable with an illness before last Saturday’s game against the Nuggets, but ended up suiting up and playing.
Donte DiVincenzo and Julius Randle have already been ruled out for tonight’s game.
Edwards has been a model of health this season and has suited up for all 48 games. The former number-one overall pick is averaging 26.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game. He also is attempting a career-high 9.8 three-point attempts per game and shooting 42.3% on these attempts.
While it is always a big loss without their star player on the floor, this is a matchup the Timberwolves should be able to survive without Edwards. Washington holds a record of just 6-41 on the season and enters this matchup on a 16-game losing streak.
Minnesota is currently listed as a 13-point favorite at -850 on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook. Washington are +575 on the Moneyline with the game total set at 220.
If Edwards is unable to suit up, expect an increase in opportunity for rookie Rob Dillingham, who broke out for a career-best 19 points and eight assists in the previous victory.
