Scottie Barnes Best Prop Bets for January 31

I wrote a column earlier today listing my top seven snubs from the 2025 All-Star teams, and I listed Toronto Raptors forward Scottie Barnes as one of my two All-Snub Snubs — i.e. the ninth-best player not named an All-Star and the 33rd best (uninjured) player in the league overall.

Mostly, the fact that Barnes didn’t make the All-Star Game has to do with Toronto’s record — the 2018-19 NBA champions are just 15-32, although they’ve won each of their last five games to climb into 12th place in the Eastern Conference, tied with the New York Knicks and Minnesota Timberwolves for the longest winning streak in the league. His counting stats — 20.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 6.5 assists — are certainly good enough, although his efficiency (46-27-76 shooting splits) are not.

Tonight, the red-hot Raptors will host the ice-cold Chicago Bulls at Scotiabank Arena, with the game tipping off at 7:30 p.m. ET.

On DraftKings Sportsbook, Toronto is a four-point favorite and the point total is set to 232.5. Below, I’ve highlighted my favorite Barnes prop bets for those looking to get in on the action.

Scottie Barnes 40+ Points + Rebounds + Assists (+125)

Throughout his career, Billy Donovan has coached plenty of good defenses, but this season’s Bulls are not one of them. Chicago has conceded 115.4 points per 100 possessions, which is the sixth-worst rate in the league. The Bulls’ up-tempo style might be enough to win if they paired a poor defense with an elite offense, but alas, they only score 111.7 points per 100 possessions, only the 18th-best in basketball. The count statistics are atrocious — Chicago gives up the second-most points, second-most rebounds and second-most assists per game while forcing the second-fewest turnovers.

Facing the Bulls is truly a dream come true for well-rounded players like Barnes, who is one of just four players in the NBA to average at least 20 points, eight rebounds, and six assists per game. The three others — Nikola Jokić, Luka Dončić, and Domantas Sabonis — are a three-time MVP, a player who certainly would have been an All-Star if he were healthy, and one of the most egregious All-Star snubs of all time. Over the last eight games — of which the Raptors have won seven — Barnes has averaged 34.9 P/R/A per game, reaching 40 combined P/R/A in two of his last three games. He also recorded 32 P/R/A in just 29 minutes on Wednesday in a blowout over the Washington Wizards.

Scottie Barnes -1.5 Assists vs. Coby White (+105)

While Toronto is mostly healthy — its top players with an injury designation are Gradey Dick, questionable with an illness, and Immanuel Quickley, who migh make his return after an eight-game absence due to a hip injury — the Bulls recently suffered a big blow when Zach LaVine was ruled out due to personal reasons. With LaVine out on Wednesday against the Boston Celtics, White recorded just three assists, although he has averaged six assists in six games without LaVine this season, an increase over his season average of 4.6.

The Raptors are pretty decent against opposing ball-handlers for how bad their defense generally is, allowing only the 12th-most assists per game, and since Lonzo Ball has returned to the starting lineup, he has averaged 44.4 touches and 5.2 potential assists per game, taking some playmaking duties away from both White and Josh Giddey. Barnes has recorded eight or more assists in four of his last seven games, and White has recorded six assists only 12 times in his 41 starts.
