How the public is betting Warriors at Kings on January 22

The Wednesday slate of NBA Rivals Week will conclude with a battle for Northern California between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings at 10 p.m. ET. The Beam Team are in far better form and will also be at home, as the Warriors will visit Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center for the first time this season.

These are two teams headed in opposite directions. The Kings are 8-1 in 2025, and interim coach Doug Christie has the eighth-shortest odds for Coach of the Year. Meanwhile, Golden State is .500 in its last 10 games, at home, and on the road.

At DraftKings Sportsbook, Sacramento is a 7.5-point favorite (-285 on the Moneyline), with the point total set to 230. Meanwhile, the Warriors are +230 on the Moneyline.

Betting Splits

The public is fairly confident that the Kings’ hot form is no fluke, with Sacramento attracting 70% of bets and 72% of the handle. The Kings’ recent wins have been impressive, recording wins over Houston, Boston, and Memphis and a blowout over Golden State since the calendar flipped to 2025. Their only loss was on the road to the Milwaukee Bucks, which has had the fifth-best net rating in the NBA over the last 10 games. Meanwhile, a 40-point defeat to the Celtics on national television on Monday — the worst home loss in Steve Kerr’s 11-season coaching tenure — is hardly the form the Warriors want to be on entering the game.

Bettors are more evenly-split when it comes to the spread, with 55% of bets and 66% of the handle coming in Sacramento to win by eight points or more. This season, Golden State is 19-22-1 against the spread, while the Kings (16-24-2) have been a little worse. Sacramento has covered the spread in three of the team’s five previous matchups, including in its blowout over the Warriors on January 5, a game in which point guard De’Aaron Fox — arguably Sacramento’s best player — was sidelined. Golden State bettors can bank on the fact that the underdog has covered the spread in each of the last eight games between these two teams.

While only a small majority (53%) of the public expecting the game to be high-scoring, big-money bettors have reliably backed the teams’ offenses, as the over has attracted 81% of the handle. In the last 10 games, the Kings have had the league’s sixth-best offensive rating and the fourth-best defensive rating. Meanwhile, Golden State has allowed the fifth-most points per 100 possessions across the same span and scored the 18th-most. The over is 18-24 in Warriors games and 22-19-1 in Kings games, but three of Sacramento’s last five games have gone over and three of Golden State’s last five games have gone under.

Here are the top five most-bet player props for Wednesday’s game:

  1. Domantas Sabonis Triple-Double (+500)
  2. Stephen Curry 20+ Points (-340)
  3. Malik Monk O18.5 Points (-125)
  4. Malik Monk 18+ Points (-165)
  5. Trayce Jackson-Davis 1st Points Scorer (+700)

Three of the five most popular props are on Kings players, and the public is backing an interesting mix of likely propositions and long-shots.

Sabonis has easily been Sacramento’s best player throughout the hot streak, and his production hasn’t taken a major hit this season despite the Kings adding power forward DeMar DeRozan in a sign-and-trade deal during the offseason. Over his last 10 games, Sabonis is averaging 20.4 points, 16.3 rebounds, and 6.9 assists, and although he has only recorded one triple-double once across the span, he has dished out at least seven assists in six of those games. After leading the league last season with 26 triple-doubles, Sabonis has recorded five so far in 2024-25, tied for the fourth-most in basketball.

Bettors are also backing a couple of fairly likely scoring props. Monk, last season’s runner-up for Sixth Man of the Year, has averaged 17.6 points per game this season, and has scored 18 or more points in each of his last eight games while shooting 45.9% from the field and 32.8% from deep across that span. The public is also high on Curry, who has scored fewer than 20 points just 12 times this season and should have an increased offensive load without Draymond Green. Curry has dropped at least 20 in seven of his past 10 games.

Perhaps most interesting is the bet on Jackson-Davis, the Warriors’ starting center, to score the first points of the game. Jackson-Davis averages just 8.4 points per game, including 2.2 points in the first quarter. He ranks just 11th on the team with a miniscule 15.2% usage rate in the opening frame, although four of the 10 players ahead of him will be sidelined on Wednesday. If he scores the first points on Wednesday, it would be just the fourth time he has done so this season.
