The 2024 NFL schedule has been fully released, detailing when every matchup will happen this season. While that is the focal point of the schedule release, it also lets teams know when they will not be playing. Whether you are a curious fan or an avid fantasy football player, the placement of bye weeks can be very important.
An early bye week forces teams to run a gauntlet as they try to make the playoffs. A late bye week can make the start of the season tougher but provide a nice rest as a team makes its playoff push. Last year, the Buffalo Bills were 6-6 heading into their Week 13 bye and then won five games in a row to clinch the AFC East. A late bye can also spell the end of a team’s momentum. The 2023 Philadelphia Eagles were 8-1 ahead of their Week 10 bye and finished the season 3-5, falling into second place in their division and eventually getting bounced in the first round of the playoffs.
Below, we’ll provide a bye week breakdown for the 2024 NFL season.
