In the final matchup of the eight-game NBA slate tonight, the Portland Trail Blazers will host the San Antonio Spurs. Victor Wembanyama and company will be looking to improve their 12-12 record and have a great chance to do so against the 8-16 Trail Blazers.
San Antonio is battling injuries with Stephon Castle, Keldon Johnson, Zach Collins, and Tre Jones each set to be out due to injury. For Portland, Matisse Thybulle is out with an ankle sprain. Duop Reath is listed as doubtful, while Deandre Ayton, Donovan Clingan, and Robert Williams III are each questionable.
This will be the second matchup between the Spurs and Trail Blazers. The Spurs produced a 118-105 victory, but this was one of Wembanyama’s more mild statistical outputs. The former number-one pick was held to 12 points, eight rebounds, and two assists in the victory.
The Spurs enter tonight’s game as three-point favorites and hold -155 odds on the Moneyline. The Trail Blazers hold +130 odds on the Moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook and the game total is set at 225.
Here is the best Victor Wembanyama prop for tonight’s matchup.
Best Victor Wembanyama Prop Bets on DraftKings Sportsbook
Wembanyama’s props are listed at over/under 24.5 points, 11.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, 2.5 made three-pointers, and 40.5 combined points, rebounds and assists.
Victor Wembanyama Over 11.5 Rebounds (+100)
So far this season, Victor Wembanyama is averaging 23.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. He is attempting 9.1 three-point attempts per game and shooting 34.1% from beyond the arc.
Looking at tonight’s matchup, expect Wembanyama to make a strong impact rebounding the basketball. The Spurs are set to be without Zach Collins, Keldon Johnson, and Stephon Castle who combine for over 10 rebounds per game. Wembanyama will be first in line to make up for this, and is active in this area regardless.
In addition, Portland struggles on the glass. They rank 17th in total rebounds this season and are 27th in opponents’ rebounds per game. With Deandre Ayton, Donovan Clingan, and Robert Williams III all listed as questionable, these concerns will only be magnified if any or all of these three are unable to suit up.
Wembanyama has recorded as many as 20 rebounds in a game already this season, and tallied over 11.5 rebounds in seven of the 19 games he has played. He has been especially aggressive on the glass of late, recording 10 or more rebounds in each of the past four games he has played.
While Portland did a nice job containing his impact in the first matchup, expect a different story tonight. His mild impact in the first matchup with the Trail Blazers occurred on the second night of a back-to-back after a matchup with the physically imposing Houston Rockets on the first night. Wembanyama and the Spurs have been off since Sunday leading into this matchup.
No adjustment can be made to match Wembanyama’s 7-foot-4 frame or 8-foot wingspan. Expect him to feast against a poor rebounding opponent and record over 11.5 rebounds tonight.
