Malik Monk’s impressive play forced the Kings’ coaching staff to insert the guard into Sacramento’s starting lineup five games ago and Monk’s presence in the first unit has negatively impacted Fox’s scoring.

During this five-game stretch, Fox is averaging 21.2 PPG and he has stayed under 24.5 points in every contest. Usage wise, Fox has seen a 26.3% usage rate, which is a significant decrease from his 29.7% average for the season. On a per 36-minute basis, Fox is averaging 20.5 points with Monk on the court in 2024-25.

As for his matchup, the Pelicans rank 27th in defensive efficiency, but they have been solid against point guards, with New Orleans giving up the 10th-fewest points to the position. Additionally, this is a road game for the Kings and Fox is averaging 4.0 PPG fewer away from Sacramento.
