The Phoenix Suns will face off with the Miami Heat to put a bow on the seven-game NBA slate today. While Kevin Durant is on the injured list once again, Devin Booker and company continue to keep the Suns afloat with a 12-9 record on the year.
In addition to Durant being out, Jusuf Nurkic and Collin Gillespie will each be out for at least the next week. Ryan Dunn is listed as questionable after missing the previous game with an ankle injury. For the Heat, Pelle Larsson is out with an ankle sprain.
The Heat enter this game as 5.5-point favorites. The Suns are +170 underdogs on the moneyline on DraftKings Sportsbook and the game total is set at 223.

Booker’s props are listed at over/under 27.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 2.5 made three-pointers and 38.5 combined points, rebounds and assists.
Devin Booker Under 27.5 Points (-120)
Devin Booker is averaging 25.1 points, 6.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game through 21 games. He also is attempting a career-high 7.9 three-point attempts per game and connecting at a 34.5 percent rate.
This will mark the ninth game already this season that Booker has played without Durant. The Suns are 1-7 in these games and Booker is at the forefront for additional offensive responsibility.
In 13 games with Durant, Booker is averaging 24.7 points, 6.8 assists, 2.2 rebounds, 17.7 FGA (44.3 percent) and 8.1 3PA (34.3 percent). Without Durant, Booker’s scoring increases but his assists dip. In those eight games, he’s averaging 25.8 points, 5.5 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 19.3 FGA (42.9 percent) and 7.5 3PA (35.0 percent).
During Thursday night’s loss to the Pelicans, Booker finished with 28 points, although he was unable to come through with a game-winning shot. Looking at the first seven-game absence from Durant, Booker only went over 27.5 points in three of these matchups. He was held well under the 27.5-point prop line in the other four games, logging 23, 18, 12 and 17 points.
Miami is a defensive-minded team that ranks sixth in opponents’ points per game. When the Suns’ offense is fully clicking it involves the gravity of each of their stars opening up the floor. Expect the Heat to have a concentrated effort on Booker to force the ball out of his hands.
While Booker will still have his flashes, the 27.5 points line is too high based on the circumstances. He has only cleared this number in nine of the 21 games this year. Expect Booker to do his best to help keep the team afloat but for him to fail to reach the over against a tough Miami defense.
