The Mavericks shocked the Minnesota crowd Wednesday night, stealing Game 1 thanks to huge performances from Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, along with an underwhelming showing from Anthony Edwards. Tonight, the Wolves will look to even things up, while the Mavericks are hoping to take a commanding 2-0 series lead.

Yes, I took this EXACT prop for Game 1. Yes, I’m going right back to it tonight.
The odds for Luka’s over were +100 for Wednesday’s contest, which was incredibly enticing despite the recent shooting struggles. I was expecting an adjustment to either 29.5 or more drastic odds movement following his 33-point performance in that matchup, but there’s still plenty of value at -130.
Doncic closed the Western Conference Semis out strong with a pair of 29 and 31-point outings to break out of that uncharacteristic postseason slump, and the hot streak continued into the subsequent series. Now, it did take a monstrous 15-point fourth quarter to hit this over, but that’s who Luka is. He’s capable of going off at any given moment, as Minnesota found out.
Speaking of the Timberwolves, despite boasting the best defense in the league, they haven’t had an answer for Luka as of late. The NBA’s leading scorer has racked up at least 33 points in four straight meetings with the Wolves, and now that he truly has his offensive rhythm back, I expect that hot streak to continue in Game 2.
