Over the last three weeks, Ridley has received nine, 15 and eight targets, converting those into 42, 143 and 73 yards. Not bad. All of those games were with Mason Rudolph under center.
Unfortunately for Ridley, Rudolph will not be starting Week 10, as Will Levis will return to the starting role after recovering from a shoulder injury.
Levis has the prototypical size and arm strength that front offices covet. He can also do damage with his legs, but he’s relatively raw from a processing standpoint. In five games this season, Levis has thrown five touchdowns and seven interceptions.
In the games that Levis has started and finished, Ridley has received seven, six, three and eight targets. Those translated into three receptions for 50 yards, four receptions for 77 yards, one reception for nine yards and zero receptions.
Start or sit? Sit.
Levis hasn’t been great this season and the connection with Ridley has been meh at best. To make matters worse, the Chargers boast one of the best pass defenses in the league, posting the fourth-best Pass EPA, while allowing the sixth-fewest fantasy points on average to wide receivers.
