DraftKings NFL Millionaire Winning Lineup Breakdown for Week 8

By: Zach Thompson

In Week 8, the Bengals roared to a high-scoring comeback win at home against the Titans, and their key contributors ended up with monster fantasy days. The Bengals stack formed the core of many of the top entries in DraftKings’ NFL $2.5M FANTASY FOOTBALL MILLIONAIRE [$1M TO 1ST, $50K CROWN CASH THRONE ELIGIBLE]. An entry from user Hebrewcheetah sprinted to the top of the leaderboard with a total of 259.08 FPTS. The entry finished more than five points clear of the rest of the field by building around the Bengals.

Here’s a look at the highest-scoring entry from the Week 8 Millionaire contest:

DraftKings NFL Millionaire Winning Lineup Breakdown for Week 8

The Bengals Roar Back

The entry from Hebrewcheetah included a trio of Bengals, who all ended at the top of the leaderboard. The top-scoring player for the entire Sunday slate was Joe Burrow (45.48 FPTS), who threw for 462 passing yards and five touchdowns. He added a rushing score in overtime as the Bengals held on for a 43-36 victory over the Titans.

Burrow’s top two targets were the top two receivers on the slate as well. He hit Tee Higgins (40.5 FPTS) for two touchdowns with 155 receiving yards while Ja’Marr Chase (34.1 FPTS) had a touchdown and 141 receiving yards. Higgins was in only 14.2% of entries, while Burrow was an even better contrarian play in just 8.5% of entries.

In stark contrast to their division rivals, the most popular player on the entire slate was Zay Flowers (0.0 FPTS), who was drafted in 35.3% of entries, while Lamar Jackson (0.0 FPTS) was the third-most-popular play at QB. The Bengals were much less popular but definitely emerged as some of the key top performers in Week 8.

Killer B’s in the Backfield

The top entry from Hebrewcheetah had two excellent running back performances as well, backing Braelon Allen (26.3 FPTS) and Bhayshul Tuten (32.9 FPTS).

In the Jets’ loss to the Raiders, Allen got another start in place of Breece Hall (quad), who remained sidelined for another game. Allen finished with 147 rushing yards and six receiving yards while scoring his third rushing touchdown of the season. He finished as the No. 6 RB for the slate.

Tuten finished as the No. 2 RB on the main slate, behind only Tyler Allgeier (39.1 FPTS). Tuten led the Jaguars to a dominant win over the Colts with a rushing touchdown, a receiving touchdown, 104 rushing yards, and 55 receiving yards.

Contrarian Tight Ends Complete the Entry

The entry from Hebrewcheetah didn’t include Mike Gesicki (17.6 FPTS) as part of the Bengals stack, but it did include two key tight ends. As an extreme bargain play, Gunnar Helm (14.6 FPTS) delivered exceptional returns at the cheapest possible salary. The second-year tight end was only in 3.4% of entries in the Milly Maker, but he delivered five catches for a team-high 76 receiving yards and caught a two-point conversion for the Titans in their loss to the Bengals.

Harold Fannin Jr. (27.4 FPTS) was even more of a differentiator since he was only in a paltry 1.9% of entries. He had the second-most FPTS of all tight ends, behind only Brock Bowers (28.2 FPTS), who had two touchdowns. Fannin caught more passes than even Bowers, hauling in 10 of his 12 targets for 154 receiving yards. The Browns were playing from behind most of the game and went pass-heavy, leading to heavy volume for Fannin, who turned into an excellent leverage option.

Michael Wilson and the Patriots DST round out the roster

The Hebrewcheetah entry complemented the two Bengals receivers with Michael Wilson (29.8 FPTS) of the Cardinals, who battled multiple injuries to finish with 111 receiving yards on eight catches to go with a 17-yard run. Wilson’s highlight of the day was this fourth-quarter touchdown from Gardner Minshew II (19.5 FPTS).

After racking up all those points in the early window, the only slot on the roster in a late game was the Patriots DST (8 FPTS). New England struggled early against the Dolphins but finished with five sacks and an interception while only allowing 14-20 points against for a solid total in the rain in Miami.

The Bottom Line

On Week 8’s main slate, Hebrewcheetah got big games from a Jaguar and three Bengals as the big cats came to play on Sunday. The two-tight-end strategy building around Helm and Fannin also worked very well, allowing this entry to put up one of the highest totals of the season.

Looking ahead to Week 9, just two teams are on a bye, while the high-flying Bengals will take on the Falcons in Madrid in an early game on Sunday. With those teams off the board, DraftKings will feature a second straight 11-game NFL DFS main slate on Sunday afternoon. DraftKings’ full slate of contests includes another chance for a huge top prize in the NFL $2.5M Fantasy Football Millionaire [$1M to 1st], which will award another $1 million top prize for a $20 entry.
