Zach LaVine Injury Update

Zach LaVine Injury Update

Zach Lavine has looked fantastic to start the season, but as has been the case in recent years, injury might again be his downfall. The former All-Star suffered an AC joint sprain in his left shoulder on Wednesday and he’s now being listed as questionable for Friday’s contest against the Nets.

In five starts in 2024-25, LaVine is averaging 23.0 points and 6.4 rebounds with what would be a career-best 51.3% field goal rate. He currently leads the Bulls in minutes per game (35.0), shot attempts per game (15.2) and usage rate (24.9%), so his potential absence would open up a lot of opportunity on Chicago’s roster.

Coby White would be the most obvious beneficiary if LaVine is forced to miss Friday’s tilt. So far this season, White has seen his usage rate spike to a team-best 29.2% when LaVine is off the court. Ayo Dosunmu is another candidate to see additional playing time and shot volume.
