Enduring a five-game losing streak, the New York Jets will host the Houston Texans at MetLife Stadium on Thursday Night Football. The Jets are coming off a highly disappointing 25-22 loss to the Patriots at Gillette Stadium. Despite committing zero turnovers and holding New England below 250 yards of offense, the Jets couldn’t get it done. The Jets are yet to show any improvement since firing Robert Saleh, with interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich now 0-3. Meanwhile, the Texans’ latest outing ended in a 23-20 home victory over the Colts. Houston once again gutted out the result; five of the Texans’ six wins this season have come in one-score games. Despite the efforts of Joe Mixon, who rushed 25 times for 102 yards and a touchdown, the Texans’ offense stalled too often, going 4-13 on third downs and 2-6 in the red zone. That offense sustained a major blow with star receiver Stefon Diggs tearing his ACL during the win over Indianapolis.
