Each week for each game, you can select a player for an Anytime Touchdown, First Touchdown or 2+ Touchdowns. For this winning parlay, the bettor selected four players from the first touchdown market. Here’s how the winning parlay looked:
- Derrick Henry first touchdown scorer (+500)
- Brian Robinson Jr. first touchdown scorer (+650)
- Rhamondre Stevenson first touchdown scorer (+800)
- Chuba Hubbard first touchdown scorer (+750)
When those four picks were combined into a parlay the odds multiplied to +344,150, meaning a $25 parlay bet paid out $86,062.50.
All four of these picks were from the early games on Sunday of Week 5. The first leg to go green came from Derrick Henry.
As the NFL celebrated in the tweet, it was the 100th score of Henry’s impressive career, but it almost didn’t happen, and this parlay was very close to being over before it had a single win.
On the previous play, Ravens QB Lamar Jackson ran for five yards and was initially awarded the touchdown. On further review, however, he was ruled to be down at the one-yard line, setting up Henry’s plunge for the first score of the game. It was Henry’s sixth touchdown of the season, which ties him for the NFL lead. It was also the start of a thrilling, 79-point barn burner that Henry ended with a long run in overtime to set up a Justin Tucker game-winning kick.
Moments later, the Panthers got on the board first in their matchup with the Bears in Chicago. After both teams started with unexciting three-and-out possessions, Chuba Hubbard cut this run back and took it 38 yards to the house.
The rest of the day didn’t go so well for Hubbard and the Panthers, who lost to the Bears, 36-10. This bettor was halfway to their “Crowning Moment,” though, after two running back first touchdown picks hit.
The third leg of this parlay came from the Dolphins-Patriots game in New England. It was a low-scoring game overall, and neither team’s offense was much to get excited about. However, Stevenson had a moment of brilliance on the Pats’ second possession following a Tyler Huntley interception. Stevenson came off the bench after sitting out the first series due to fumble issues, and he broke free for this 33-yard run, scoring the Patriots’ only touchdown of the day:
The fourth and final pick this parlay needed was from the game between the Browns and the upstart Commanders. Neither team was able to score on their first two possessions, although the Commanders had a great chance with first-and-goal at the three-yard line before Jayden Daniels threw an interception to Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah at the goal line.
On the next drive, the Commanders were sure to not repeat that mistake and gave the ball to Robinson on first-and-goal from the four-yard line.
Robinson finished the game with only seven carries for 18 yards but scored two touchdowns, including this one, which was the first of the game and meant that this four-leg parlay went green across the board.
The touchdown by Robinson finished up this bettor’s “Crowning Moment” and turned a $25 parlay into a payout of over $85,000.
