NFL Pick ‘Em Pools

These pools are really easy to use and allow you to have action for the entire NFL season with just one entry fee. For season-long pools, you will go back to the pool every week and pick five games against the spread. Each correct selection is worth one point and each incorrect selection is worth zero points. For single-week pools, the same rules apply.

Every week of the regular season I will be giving out my five favorite selections, along with my leans for every other game on the slate.

Week 5 Picks

Picks Record: 12-8

Jets +2.5 at Vikings- The Vikings have been one of the best teams in the NFL this season, but this is the perfect spot for the Jets. They desperately need this win after giving one away against the Broncos last week. The Jets’ defense has been beaten on the ground but the Vikings’ run game has struggled up to this point, ranking 15th in the NFL in rush EPA. An experienced quarterback like Aaron Rodgers won’t be as easily fooled by Brian Flores’ great schemes as the other teams the Vikings have faced this season.

Cowboys +2.5 at Steelers- The Steelers finally lost their first game of the season against the Colts last week. Meanwhile, the Cowboys got back on track with a win over the Giants. The Steelers have an elite run defense but the Cowboys don’t have much interest in running the ball. They will throw on Pittsburgh and force Justin Fields to make big throws to keep up with their offense. The Cowboys should pick up this win.

Saints +5.5 at Chiefs- The Chiefs are 4-0 but all four wins have been one-possession games. The Chiefs’ offense is totally depleted without Hollywood Brown or Rashee Rice. The Saints should be able to keep their offense in check and hang around in this game. The Saints’ offense has slowed down the past two weeks after a great start to the season but they should start to adjust to how teams are defending them and start to look better.

Panthers +3.5 at Bears- The Panthers couldn’t keep up with the Bengals last week but their offense has looked much better over the last two weeks with Andy Dalton at the helm. The Bears are starting to play better but the Panthers’ defense should be able to keep them in check and make this a relatively low-scoring game. This game could easily come down to a field goal on either side so I will take the points with Carolina.

Cardinals +7.5 at 49ers- The Cardinals have shown spurts of promise this season but haven’t been able to put a whole game together. In a divisional matchup with so much familiarity, this could be their chance to keep it close at the very least. The 49ers were able to dominate the Patriots on every level but this team is still pretty banged up on offense and obviously missing Christian McCaffrey. The Cardinals should be able to score enough to stay within a touchdown here.
