The regular season is winding down in the MLB, but there are still playoff spots and seeding to be decided over the next 12 games. On Tuesday, there are 10 games on the main DFS fantasy baseball slate on DraftKings, which begins at 7:10 p.m. ET.
The Mets and Braves continue to battle for the final NL Wild Card spot, and the Mets nost the Nationals in the first game on the slate. In the AL, the Tigers and Mariners are both chasing the Twins. Minnesota plays in an early game before the main slate, but the two pursuing teams are on the main slate. Another factor to pay attention to is that the Rockies are playing at Coors Field, where they’ll take on the Dbacks in one of the four divisional games on tap.
With 20 teams in the player pool, many options stand out as good plays, but you may find yourself short on salary cap space as you try to cram them all into your lineup. Check out these three low-cost players with big-time upside this Tuesday.

SP Tylor Megill, New York Mets vs. Washington Nationals $7,700
The Mets start the day with a one-game lead over the Braves for the third and final NL Wild Card spot. They’ll look to stay out in front as they give the ball to Megill, who spent much of the season in Triple-A but has been sharp since his return last month. The 29-year-old righty has a 4.48 ERA and 3.52 FIP in the majors this season but has a 2.35 ERA and 1.80 FIP in his three starts since being recalled.
Megill has always had good fantasy potential due to his strikeout upside. He has 73 strikeouts in 62 1/3 innings all year and 18 in 15 1/3 innings over his last three outings. Last Monday against the Blue Jays, Megill had nine strikeouts in six shutout innings, allowing just one hit and finishing with 29.7 fantasy points.
The Nationals are an interesting matchup since they give so many exciting young prospects extended playing time. While they have had moments of brilliance (particularly from James Wood), they still rank in the bottom 10 in the MLB in runs scored over the last 30 days and have scored four or fewer in five straight games. Megill should be able to limit damage and pick up enough strikeouts to be a strong value play on Tuesday night.
1B/OF Eric Wagaman, Los Angeles Angels vs. Chicago White Sox, $2,800
The Angels are taking a look at many of their prospects coming down the stretch since so many regulars are dealing with injuries. Wagaman started the year at Double-A and hit .275 with 17 homers and 10 stolen bases in 121 games with the Rocket City Trash Pandas and Salt Lake Bees. He was especially effective in Salt Lake, where he hit .320 with a .371 wOBA in 27 games after being promoted in early August.
Wagaman was called up to the majors and made his MLB debut last Tuesday. Since then, he has gone 4-for-20 (.200), but all four hits have gone for extra bases with three doubles and a home run. His first MLB blast came on Monday night, and he brings good power and run production potential at 3B for under $3,000 as his Angels face Davis Martin ($6,500) and the White Sox in a matchup stuffed with cheap options on both sides. Given his recent success, Wagaman is an option that stands out at this price.
2B Nick Yorke, Pittsburgh Pirates at St. Louis Cardinals, $2,000
Yorke was traded midseason from the Red Sox to the Pirates in a prospect swap for SP Quinn Priester. Like Wagaman, Yorke began the year at Double-A and climbed to the majors this season, putting up solid numbers at the plate. In 110 games in the minors, Yorke hit .303 with an .834 OPS, 12 home runs and 21 stolen bases. After the trade to the Pirates organization, he hit .355 in his 40 games in Triple-A Indianapolis with a .416 wOBA.
In his MLB debut on Monday night, Yorke went 0-for-3, but he did still make an impact by picking up a stolen base. He has been a solid contact hitter throughout his rise through the minors and should be able to contribute to the Pirates down the stretch. He can move around to multiple infield positions, but on Tuesday’s slate, he offers great value at 2B since his salary is at the minimum. He still brings very solid upside against Lance Lynn ($7,500) and the Cardinals.
