Netflix announced on Monday that they will be releasing a three-episode documentary series following Aaron Rodgers’ journey after rupturing his Achilles tendon in Week 1 of the 2023 NFL Season. Netflix released the first trailer for the series below.
Rodgers, 40, is entering his 20th season in the NFL and his second season as a member of the New York Jets. Rodgers is a 10-time Pro Bowler, four-time All-Pro, four-time NFL MVP, and one-time Super Bowl champion and MVP.
The last time Rodgers played in an NFL game was 363 days ago on September 11, 2023, against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. In Rodgers’ last full season in Green Bay as a Packer, he had 3,695 yards through the air while throwing 26 touchdown passes. The Packers missed the playoffs in Rodgers’ final season and he hasn’t made an appearance in the postseason since 2021.
Rodgers is now fully healthy and went through a long, grueling journey during the past year. Netflix will show behind-the-scenes footage of the process. The three-part series will be released on December 17, 2024.
Rodgers will make his NFL return tonight on Monday Night Football against the San Francisco 49ers at 8:15 P.M. ET. Rodgers is from the Bay Area and is making his return home for the first time since he played the 49ers in September 2021.
