Trey Wingo Joins GoJo & Golic To Discuss Pregame PowerUp, NFL Storylines

Trey Wingo, the newest addition to the DraftKings Network, joined Wednesday’s edition of GoJo and Golic to preview his new show, Pregame PowerUp, and chat about the upcoming NFL season.

Wingo, who is no stranger to Mike Golic Jr. and Mike Golic Sr., having worked with them at ESPN on Golic & Wingo, stopped by the show to discuss what we can expect from his new show, Pregame PowerUp. Wingo shares that he and the Pregame PowerUp cast will analyze the game from multiple perspectives, including sports betting and fantasy contexts, along with other updates that could impact team outcomes.

Additionally, Wingo will join other DraftKings Network talent, including the Golics, next Thursday at our Kickoff In Kansas City prior to the Ravens taking on the Chiefs.

The Chiefs are 3-point favorites over the Ravens at DraftKings Sportsbook and Wingo says that he doubts the Chiefs will come up short like they did last year in Week 1 when they lost to the Detroit Lions by 1 point. Further, Wingo says we should expect Kansas City’s offense to look similar to the offenses in 2019, 2020 and 2021, with their deep-shot plays. The defense should be just as competitive despite losing corner L’Jarius Sneed to the Titans in free agency; Wingo contends that the Chiefs have an intense pass rush and young guys in the back half of their defense are ripe to make an impact.

Senior asked Trey if any NFL teams could surprise us this season. Wingo suggested the Bengals should bounce back from last year’s 9-8 performance, which he credits to the return of quarterback Joe Burrow from injury. However, he also expressed concern about the Bengals and their relationship with their receivers. There are issues surrounding Tee Higgins’ future with the team, and now, with the signing of CeeDee Lamb this week, it begs the question: When will the Bengals take care of Ja’Marr Chase?

A team Trey is curious about is the Washington Commanders. He believes Dan Quinn will revamp their defense, and they have acquired some pieces on offense, including the addition of rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels. If Daniels can leverage the weapons around him, the Commanders could be real contenders for the NFC East division title, especially since no one has repeated in the division since the late 1990s or early 2000s, according to Wingo.
