Ilkay Gundogan Returning to Manchester City | Live Updates

When Ilkay Gundogan left Manchester City after they clinched the treble in 2023, he declared his wish to return before the conclusion of his career.

As it turns out, that return could be coming sooner than anyone expected. In a quickly developing story, Barcelona and Gundogan are reportedly going their separate ways after a one-year partnership in which the German midfielder scorer five goals and recorded nine assists in La Liga.

Gündoğan Officially Returning to Manchester City!

The short-lived saga is officially over, Gündoğan is going back to Manchester! According to Fabrizio Romano, the German midfielder reached an agreement on a contract that lasts until June 2025. He will join the prohibitive Premier League favorites in their quest to win a fifth consecutive title.

According to football insider Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have firmly decided to let Gündoğan leave for free. This could only incentivize City further to get a deal done, and now the decision lies with the player.

According to football journalist Adrià Albets, Gündoğan personally called Guardiola multiple days ago to request a return to his former club. The two also reportedly discussed the potential of it being a free transfer.
