Cardinals vs. Seahawks NFL Player Prop Bets for Week 9

By: Caleb Wilfinger

Sunday’s loaded NFL Week 9 slate features a west coast showdown between the Arizona Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field, with kickoff set for 4:25 p.m. ET.

The Cardinals (3-5) are in the midst of an up-and-down season, but they are coming off an overtime victory against the Cowboys a week ago. On the other side, the Seahawks (4-4) are looking to bounce back from a bad loss and remain in the thick of the NFC playoff picture.

The Seahawks are 8.5-point home favorites with the game total set at 39.5 at DraftKings Sportsbook. Let’s dive into the top player prop bets for Sunday’s clash between the Cardinals and Seahawks.

Cardinals vs. Seahawks NFL Player Prop Bets

Gardner Minshew to throw an interception (-140)

I thought this was going to be out of range, but there is still a bit of value on Gardner Minshew to throw an interception on Sunday. The Cardinals quarterback was inserted into the second half of last week’s contest against the Cowboys and thrived in that role, racking up 188 passing yards and three touchdowns in just over one quarter of action. The veteran quarterback was a revelation for a Cardinals team that definitely needed a spark and saved its season with a comeback victory in Dallas.

Despite his excellent performance a week ago, it’s worth pointing out that Minshew generated that success against a Cowboys pass defense that is near the bottom of the league in every conceivable metric. It goes without saying that this week’s matchup is a much tougher task. After all, the Seahawks defense was just embarrassed by Caleb Williams and the Bears offense on Monday and we can expect a bounce-back effort from Mike Macdonald’s unit at home. Seattle has already forced eight interceptions this season, so let’s target the hosts to get a ninth on Sunday.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba anytime touchdown scorer (-120)

The Seattle offense is in desperate need of a strong showing and a game against the Cardinals porous defense (ranked 28th in EPA per play allowed) is just what the doctor ordered for a Seattle team that will be starting Drew Lock at quarterback this week. Lock was effective in the games he started earlier this season while Sam Darnold missed time, and he should pick up where he left off in a favorable matchup at home.

Regardless of who is at quarterback, there’s not a secondary in the NFL that has been able to slow down Jaxon Smith-Njigba this season. The Ohio State product has established himself as the best receiver in the game and he’s consistently been the only reliable option for either Seahawks quarterback in the passing game. Smith-Njigba has already hauled in nine touchdowns on the season, and he grabbed nine receptions for 155 yards and three touchdowns in this very same matchup back in Week 2. With that in mind, I’ll go back to the well with the Seahawks top target this week.
