Packers vs. Panthers NFL DFS Value Picks for Thursday Night Football

Updated:

By: Alex Hunter

The Packers are hosting the Panthers in an NFL Week 8 primetime matchup on Thursday Night Football. Green Bay is favored by 3.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook, with the game total set at 46.5 points.

DraftKings is offering some huge Showdown contests for this matchup. Below, I have featured two of my favorite NFL DFS value plays to consider for this Showdown slate.

Packers vs. Panthers NFL DFS Value Picks for Thursday Night Football

TE Tommy Tremble, Carolina Panthers ($3,900 CPT, $2,600 FLEX)

While not the most exciting option, Tremble is underpriced for his usage and the best punt play on this Showdown slate. Tremble is running a route on only 41% of his team’s dropbacks this season, but he is commanding a target on 19% of those routes, including four red-zone targets.

Tremble has caught 16 of 20 targets and has had some decent showings recently, including a 20.6-FPTS outburst in Week 6 against the Eagles. There, he caught all four targets for 46 yards and two touchdowns.

The veteran has seen at least four targets in three of his last four games. That usage should continue on Thursday, with the Panthers likely playing from behind as a 3.5-point underdog. Carolina leads the NFL in pace, and the Packers rank seventh. This game has shootout potential, and Tremble should finish with 5-10 FPTS, with room for more if he finds the endzone.

WR Savion Williams, Green Bay Packers ($6,600 CPT, $4,400 FLEX)

After missing the first five games with a high ankle sprain, Williams has been solid the last two weeks, posting 8.1 FPTS apiece against the Cowboys and the Lions. The second-year wideout has caught all seven of his targets for 79 yards this season.

Williams is seeing a target on 13% of his routes while running a route on 61% of his team’s dropbacks, the fourth-highest route rate for the Packers over the last two weeks. 61% of Williams’ routes are coming from the slot, putting him in a strong position to rack up easy catches.

This game should be fast-paced, and Williams should crack double-digit FPTS for the first time this season.
