Best Karl-Anthony Towns prop bet for 76ers vs. Knicks on Tuesday 10/20/26

The 76ers are visiting the defending champion Knicks on Tuesday night for a season-opening playoff rematch. On DraftKings Sportsbook, New York is favored by 4.5 points, and this game carries a total of O/U 231.5 points.

If New York is going to earn another win over their rivals, Karl-Anthony Towns should play a major role. The center was terrific during the team’s Divisional Round sweep over Philadelphia last spring. Let’s break down my favorite Karl-Anthony Towns player prop on DraftKings Sportsbook going into this primetime matchup.

Karl-Anthony Towns 24+ Points + Assists (-115)

For years, Towns has been known primarily as a high-volume scorer. Last season, he averaged 20.1 points per game on 50/37/86 shooting splits. However, the six-time All-Star put his playmaking skills to good use in the playoffs. That was especially true during the Divisional Round against Philadelphia. The big man averaged a team-leading 7.5 assists per game during New York’s sweep. Even more impressive, he played just over 23 minutes per game during the series. If these contests were closer, Towns could have racked up multiple triple-doubles.

Considering it worked so well during the postseason, head coach Mike Brown will likely let KAT continue to serve as a distributor. After all, point guard Jalen Brunson has proven he can thrive as an off-ball shooter. Towns’ ability from three-point range forces opposing big men out of the paint, creating space for his teammates to operate down low.

When the superstar does decide to do some scoring himself, there won’t be too much opposition. Joel Embiid looked absolutely gassed in Philadelphia’s series defeat vs. New York. Granted, the former MVP was given a massive workload during the team’s seven-game victory over Boston in the first round. It would be coaching malpractice if Nick Nurse leave the oft-injured veteran on the floor for more than 30 minutes tonight.

Towns looked quicker and stronger than Embiid last year; that shouldn’t change in any meaningful way. To make matters worse, center Ariel Hukporti (Achilles) is out for the season. Fellow backups Dominick Barlow (back) and Tacko Fall (hip) are out tonight, while Adem Bona (foot) is questionable. That leaves Philadelphia with a very thin front court rotation coming into Tuesday’s game. Expect some combination of Jabari Walker and Justin Edwards in relief of Embiid. Both players, 6’7″, have a height disadvantage against New York’s seven-footer.

A shaky center rotation matching up against a player that has a history of success in this spot? With all eyes on Finals MVP Brunson, it’s Towns that could deliver a monster performance to open the season. Whether he’s acting as a scorer or passer, the center should have his way at Madison Square Garden tonight.
