Quinshon Judkins Start or Sit Advice for Week 4

Judkins ($8,800 for Showdown) has been a serviceable fantasy running back the last two weeks, scoring 9.8 FPTS vs. the Buccaneers and 9.9 FPTS vs. the Panthers. Dylan Sampson (knee) has missed these past two and remains on injured reserve, resulting in a strong role for Judkins.

The last two weeks, Judkins has seen 12 and 18 carries on a 58.6% snaps share, as he has handled 88.2% of the running back carries for the Browns. Judkins has rushed the ball four times in the redzone and in the passing game, the back is only running a route on 33% of his team’s dropbacks, but he is seeing a target on 29% of his routes.

Judkins has hauled in all nine of his targets and he is averaging 1.43 YPPR this season, which ranks 15th among the backs who have seen 5+ targets. While Judkins has been effective as a pass catcher, he has struggled as a rusher, averaging just 3.0 YPC, which ranks 52nd of the 63 backs who have seen 10+ carries. Overall, Judkins ranks 35th at his position in FPTS per snap (0.25).

Up next, Judkins is facing the Steelers for an AFC North matchup Thursday night. Pittsburgh has been a solid matchup on the ground, giving up the 12th-most yards per rush this season (4.4), but this isn’t an appealing setting, as this game’s total is the lowest of Week 4 at 38.5 points on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Still, Judkins is a lock to see 15+ touches as the clear top back for Cleveland with Sampson out. Judkins also is overdue for a touchdown, as he has seen six redzone opportunities, but has yet to find the endzone. Judkins carries +120 odds to score a touchdown on DraftKings Sportsbook, which are the second-best for this game.

While not the most exciting option, Judkins is a viable FLEX play for Week 4 that could score double-digit FPTS for the first time this season.
