Davante Adams Receiving Yards Pick for Rams vs. Giants

Davante Adams Receiving Yards Pick for Rams vs. Giants

Evidently, the Los Angeles Rams are not immune to jet lag. Last week, Los Angeles traveled to Melbourne, Australia for its season opener against the San Francisco 49ers, and it could hardly have gone more poorly. Newly-acquired Myles Garrett was ineffective and was shut down for four weeks while undergoing knee surgery, Matthew Stafford struggled in his first game as the reigning MVP, and Puka Nacua experienced hip and groin issues after the game.

Nacua seems somewhat unlikely to play in tonight’s 8:15 p.m. ET Monday Night Football clash against the New York Giants at SoFi Stadium, putting more pressure on Davante Adams to step up and get the Rams back on the right footing. Only 12% of 0-2 teams have gone on to make the playoffs, and only three have ever won the Super Bowl, so for the hosts, tonight is as close to a must-win clash as a Week 2 matchup ever gets.

Los Angeles is a 6.5-point favorite for tonight’s game at DraftKings Sportsbook (-290 on the Moneyline), with the point total set to 47.5. New York is +235 on the Moneyline.

Below, I’ll break down Adams’ receiving yards prop for tonight’s showdown.

Davante Adams Receiving Yards Prop Bet vs. Giants

Davante Adams 70+ Receiving Yards (+120)

Adams had a quiet game in the Rams’ loss to the 49ers, finishing with just three catches from six targets for 26 yards, but one bad game in sub-optimal circumstances shouldn’t overshadow the incredible production he put up in 2025, when he led the NFL in touchdowns. He did have only 789 receiving yards, his fewest since 2015, but he’s never played alongside a receiver as talented as Nacua.

Last season, Nacua missed one game with injury and left two others early, and while Adams had a mixed track record in those contests, he did record 60 yards and two touchdowns in a win over the New Orleans Saints on November 2. The following week, Nacua played only 52.2% of Los Angeles’ offensive snaps while managing the injury, and Adams finished with 77 yards and a score. Adams then had 71 yards in Week 15, a game in which Nacua was on the field for just 55.6% of the Rams’ offensive snaps. He should be able to step into the No. 1 receiver role if Nacua misses any time. The teams’ other receivers (Tutu Atwell, Jordan Whittington, and Xavier Smith) don’t exactly inspire much confidence.

The Giants opened their season with an impressive win over the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday Night Football, and their defensive backs limited CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens to a combined 72 receiving yards. Still, New York had a league-average secondary last season, allowing just the 16th-fewest passing yards and ranking 17th by Pro Football Focus’ coverage grades. The Giants replaced Cordale Flott with Greg Newsome II, a slight downgrade overall, and they already have five cornerbacks on Injured Reserve. Despite the solid overall performance against Pickens and Lamb, New York ranks sixth-to-last by PFF’s coverage grades after its first game of the season.

Stafford might not have many better alternatives than a heavy dose of Adams. The Giants’ run defense was the second-worst unit in football by PFF’s standards last season, and although losing Dexter Lawrence won’t help, they should be able to rely on another season of progression from youngsters Abdul Carter and Kayvon Thibodeaux, as well as rookie Arvell Reese. Dallas’ running backs managed just 69 yards in Week 1, the third-fewest of any team.
