Week 2 of the new NFL season concludes with a Monday Night Football showdown between the Los Angeles Rams and New York Giants. After a disappointing loss to start their campaign, the Rams are led by Matthew Stafford into this matchup against a John Harbaugh-led squad that opened its new era on a high note in primetime last week. Can the reigning MVP get his team back on the right foot at home tonight?

Best Matthew Stafford prop bet for Rams vs. Giants
Last season, Matthew Stafford finally brought home the first MVP trophy of his career. He threw for an astounding 4,707 yards and 46 touchdowns in what was arguably the best campaign of his now-18 years in the NFL. Heading into 2026, his team returns practically the entire core of weapons that made him so successful – Puka Nacua, Davante Adams and a slew of tight ends that head coach Sean McVay seems to love. As we’ve seen, the sky is the limit for the quarterback.
The season opener didn’t play out as the Rams expected, though. They lost an ugly outing against the division-rival San Francisco 49ers, however, one can argue that the travel involved with playing in Australia following a 17-hour flight threw off Los Angeles’ rhythm. Stafford went 15-for-25 with just 155 yards, no touchdowns and an interception in that game; far from what we’ve come to expect from the standout veteran.
The question now becomes whether Stafford will bounce back on Monday Night Football in Week 2. The signs lean more towards yes than they do to the other side, but there’s some context to consider.
On DraftKings Sportsbook, Stafford’s passing prop bet lines are set at O/U 239.5 yards and 1.5 touchdowns. The Rams are also a 6.5-point favorite with the total set at 47.5 combined points.
The trouble heading into tonight’s game is the status of star wideout Puka Nacua. The Rams’ top target has cemented his place as a top-five player at his position and led the team in receptions and receiving yards during each of the last two seasons. He posted five grabs for 74 yards in Week 1, but has been dealing with a hip injury ever since and is questionable to suit up on Monday Night Football. From the way things are sounding, he’s trending towards missing this contest after a couple of DNP designations on Friday and Saturday.
Even in Nacua’s absence, not all hope is lost. Davante Adams is still a very talented wideout even in the late stages of his career, and Los Angeles’ tight end grouping of Colby Parkinson and Terrance Ferguson should be able to soak up volume. However, Nacua’s absence would still significantly lower the ceiling for this offensive attack since he commands so much defensive attention.
If Nacua doesn’t play on Monday Night Football, then fading Stafford’s passing yards prop makes plenty of sense. He’ll be missing his top target, and based on last week’s opener, the Giants want to control the tempo and hold the ball as much as possible. Their defense will face another difficult test and will probably be on the field more than in Week 1, but they held the Cowboys’ prolific passing game in check for the most part. It’s tough to see Stafford throwing for over 239.5 yards if he doesn’t have Nacua out there, so I’m sticking with the under in this one.
