I’m still recovering from the offensive bonanza we got in Week 1. Can this be replicated? I’d be elated, but more likely, those that delivered will be faded, while the ones that flopped will be underrated. The universe often has jokes like that. Everywhere I look, that is all I see. I’d rather watch a victory formation with the quarterback taking a knee, on loop. Alright, it’s time to take a breath, regroup and drop some knowledge for the group. We are still working on incomplete information because one week is but that. One week. But we should still tweak and keep grinding until we reach the peak. Those are the heights that we seek. So I’ll check the technique and plug all the leaks. May you make unique lineups and cause you to shriek. When it’s all said and done, that means you won.
We’ve got 13 games on this main slate. Per DraftKings Sportsbook, three games have a spread of three points or less. One game has a double-digit favorite: San Francisco is -13.5 points over Miami. Five games have a total of at least 45 points, with Washington-Dallas having the highest at 50.5. The lowest total is the Eagles-Titans game at 39.5 points. There are four home dogs.

Quarterback
Stud
Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys ($6,300) – Daniels wasn’t great in Week 1, completing 18 of 34 passes for 164 yards. Still, Philadelphia is a very good defense, and Daniels threw two touchdowns while rushing five times for 31 yards. Now he gets a Cowboys defense that got eviscerated by the Giants. Dallas’ pressure rate was the fifth-lowest in Week 1 despite blitzing at the eighth-highest rate. The 134.2 quarterback rating was the second-highest allowed. This game has the highest total on the slate at 50.5 points, with Dallas implied to score 27.25 and Washington at 23.25. This one is expected to be a shootout. Daniels’ dual-threat ability makes the prospects even juicier.
Other Options – Lamar Jackson ($7,300), Caleb Williams ($6,800), Jalen Hurts ($6,700), Dak Prescott ($6,400), Brock Purdy ($6,200)
Value
Baker Mayfield, Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Cleveland Browns ($5,600) – Mayfield only put up 14.6 FPTS in Week 1, but the stat line was decent: 23-for-28 for 216 yards, plus five rushes for 30 yards. No touchdowns, though, and he lost three fumbles. Mayfield should feast in this one with Tampa Bay at home facing a Browns defense that is a shell of its former self. In Week 1, Cleveland blitzed at the third-lowest rate, and the pressure rate was middle of the pack. The 150.6 quarterback rating was the highest, while Trevor Lawrence completed 78.3% of his passes. I’m not expecting a high-volume game from Mayfield since the Buccaneers should have this game in hand early. But efficiency should be high, and three or four touchdowns wouldn’t surprise me.
Other Options – Jordan Love ($5,900), Tyler Shough ($5,300), Geno Smith ($4,800), Carson Wentz ($4,600)
Running Back
Stud
Derrick Henry, Baltimore Ravens vs. New Orleans Saints ($7,200) – The ageless one keeps stiff-arming Father Time. In Week 1, Henry rumbled 23 times for 144 yards and… not one, not two, but three touchdowns. Declan Doyle had a great debut as an offensive coordinator, and the running game is more potent with Lamar Jackson under center. New Orleans allowed Detroit to rush 33 times for 165 yards and two touchdowns in Week 1. The rush defense’s -3.93 expected points was the seventh-lowest mark league-wide.
Other Options – Bijan Robinson ($8,200), Ashton Jeanty ($6,800), David Montgomery ($6,500), Javonte Williams ($6,400), D’Andre Swift ($6,300), Breece Hall ($6,200), Bucky Irving ($6,100)
Value
Aaron Jones Sr., Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears ($5,100) – In Week 1, Jones and Jordan Mason split the running back duties pretty evenly. Mason is out for this one with a thumb injury, so Jones should see an uptick in opportunities. Jones and Mason also split the eight red-zone opportunities, so Jones should get most of the money touches as well. The matchup is juicy, as Chicago looks like a sieve on defense. Last week, the Bears allowed 125 rushing yards and two touchdowns. The -4.64 expected points were the sixth-worst.
Other Options – Chris Rodriguez Jr. ($5,100)
Wide Receiver
Stud
Justin Jefferson, Minnesota Vikings at Chicago Bears ($7,800) – Kyler Murray has been ruled out, so it’s all system go for the Vikings passing attack. And it should be plenty busy because the Bears offense looks like a juggernaut. Carson Wentz is a journeyman now playing for his sixth team, but he’s a savvy veteran who knows how to feed the beast that is “JJettas.” Last week, Jefferson hauled in eight of nine targets for 92 yards and two touchdowns. The Bears defense allowed Bryce Young to throw for 361 yards and three scores last week. ‘Nuff said.
Other Options – Jaxon Smith-Njigba ($8,100), CeeDee Lamb ($7,300), Chris Olave ($7,200), Devonta Smith ($6,800), Mike Evans ($6,600), Emeka Egbuka ($6,400), George Pickens ($6,300), Christian Watson ($6,200)
Value
Stefon Diggs, Washington Commanders at Dallas Cowboys ($5,300) – There are so, so many cheap options on this slate due to all the injuries at the position, and I will likely be inserting many into lineups. But I just love this spot for Diggs. This game has the highest total on the slate, so the environment should be fantasy-friendly. Last week, Diggs led all Commanders with nine targets, operating out of the slot. He only turned those into four catches, but one was a touchdown. He will likely get peppered in this one, as the chances of a back-and-forth affair are elevated.
Other Options – Garrett Wilson ($6,000), Luther Burden III ($5,700), Chris Godwin Jr. ($5,600), Deebo Samuel ($5,300), Quentin Johnston ($5,000), Matthew Golden ($4,700), Antonio Williams ($4,400), Rashod Bateman ($4,400), Mack Hollins ($4,300), Devaughn Vele ($4,200), Kayshon Boutte ($4,000), DeMario Douglas ($3,800), Jaylin Noel ($3,700), Kalif Raymond ($3,600), Xavier Hutchinson ($3,500), Chris Moore ($3,300), Ted Hurst III ($3,200), Bryce Lance ($3,200), LaJohntay Wester ($3,100)
Tight End
Stud
Mark Andrews, Baltimore Ravens vs. New Orleans Saints ($4,400) – In Week 1, Andrews caught four of six targets for 49 yards. With Zay Flowers doubtful and Ja’Kobi Lane out, Andrews could become the de facto number one option in Minnesota’s passing game. This game has a healthy total of 46.5 points.
Other Options – Trey McBride ($6,900), Colston Loveland ($5,000), Tucker Kraft ($4,900), Dallas Goedert ($4,800), Pat Freiermuth ($3,700), Michael Mayer ($3,600), TJ Hockenson ($3,500), Evan Engram ($3,300)
Value
Hunter Henry, New England Patriots vs. Pittsburgh Steelers ($4,000) – Henry caught only three passes in Week 1 for a measly 26 yards. He will likely move up the target tree, though, with A.J. Brown out of action.
Other Options – Juwan Johnson ($3,900)
Defense/Special Teams
Stud
Buccaneers DST vs. Cleveland Browns ($3,600) – For as long as Deshaun Watson is under center for the Browns, it’s a wise choice to roll with the defenses playing against him. In Week 1, he threw an interception while taking five sacks. Tampa Bay is good at stopping the run and should score plenty of points on offense, so Watson will likely drop back a ton.
Other Options – 49ers DST ($3,800), Eagles DST ($3,700)
Value
Jaguars DST at Denver Broncos ($2,400) – The Broncos have a good offensive line and should bounce back at home after their Week 1 debacle. That said, it’s hard to trust the Broncos offense until Sean Payton starts calling plays again. Against Kansas City, Bo Nix threw an interception and posted a paltry 4.7 yards per attempt while getting sacked four times. Jacksonville is very good against the run, which should force Nix to the air. Last week, the Jaguars posted the fifth-highest pressure rate while blitzing at the 17th-highest frequency. Their five sacks were tied for the league’s second-most.
Other Options – Texans DST ($3,000), Broncos DST ($2,800), Vikings DST ($2,600)
