In one of the biggest upsets in MMA history, Alex Apodaca beat Bella Mir by unanimous decision in the Main Event of tonight’s DWCS card. Before the fight, Mir was a -3600 favorite, and Apodaca was a +1500 underdog on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Apodaca totaled 66 total strikes and 48 significant strikes, compared to Mir’s 33 total strikes and 30 significant strikes. Mir had 3:46 of control time but only landed one of six takedown attempts.

Apodaca continued to land big punches in the first minute of the final round. Then Mir tried to control Apodaca on the ground but was unsuccessful again. With two minutes left, Mir took Apodaca’s back.

Mir landed multiple powerful strikes at the start of the fight. Apodaca responded with a few of her own before Mir attempted a takedown. After an elbow, Mir’s nose appeared to be bleeding. Apodaca had a solid round, but I give the edge to Mir in the first.

Guilherme Uriel beat Mario Piazzon by first-round submission. Piazzon attempted a single leg as soon as the fight began. Then Uriel scored a quick standing guillotine choke. Uriel improves his record to 8-2 with four knockouts and four submissions. Uriel has also won two consecutive bouts since his last loss.
This was the quickest finish of the night so far, as Uriel scored the submission 50 seconds into the fight. On DraftKings Sportsbook, Uriel was +450 to win by submission and +550 by first-round submission.

Before this fight, Clancy was +700 to win this fight by second-round KO/TKO/DQ. This was a one-sided fight from start to finish, as Balletto struggled to keep up with Clancy’s pace and output.

Humphrey was aggressive from the start of the fight, trying to score a takedown. Then the two began striking, with both fighters exchanging punches. Eventually, Humphrey landed a takedown, but Miuranda got back up and showed his toughness. Miranda was bleeding a ton throughout the first round of this fight.
