In the top of the fifth inning during Tuesday’s game vs. the White Sox, Kevin Gausman exited the field with a trainer. It appeared to be a left thumb injury. It’s a brutal way for his first start at Wrigley Field as a Chicago Cub to end.
Before exiting, he allowed seven hits and three runs in 4.1 innings. He struck out five batters.
