Seattle Mariners vs. Milwaukee Brewers prediction, pick for Tuesday 8/18/26

A season that began with plenty of optimism has turned into a nightmare for the Mariners (59-66). Still, in the lackluster American League West, a postseason appearance is still within reach for Seattle. That’ll mean earning wins against some of baseball’s best teams between now and the end of September. No club in the majors owns a better record than the Brewers (77-48). Milwaukee, still battling the Braves and Dodgers for home-field advantage in the National League, has plenty to play for tonight. What should bettors expect this evening in Wisconsin?

The Brewers are favorites (-165) over the Mariners; the over/under is set at 7.5 runs. Below, I’ve laid out my preview, prediction, and best bet for Tuesday’s showdown between Seattle and Milwaukee on DraftKings Sportsbook.

Mariners vs. Brewers pick, best bet today

  • Mariners vs. Brewers under 7.5 runs (-105): Seattle has been an absolute mess at the plate. A road date with Harrison doesn’t seem like a bounce-back spot. In comparison, the Brewers are in a bit of a rut offensively as well. It’s difficult to back either of these lineups this evening.

Mariners vs. Brewers prediction, preview

Bryce Miller’s otherwise stellar 2026 campaign has hit a few speed bumps in recent weeks. The right-hander has coughed up at least four earned runs in three of his last four outings, most recently surrendering a five-spot to the Yankees. Still, it’s no stretch to call this one of the AL’s more talented pitchers. He sits within the 84th percentile or better in xERA (2.83), xBA (.209), chase rate (36.5%), walk rate (4.8%) and hard-hit rate (32.2%). If there’s one weakness for the 27-year-old, it’s an inability to force ground balls. Fortunately, Miller gets to play half of his games at spacious T-Mobile Park. His knack for placing fastballs at the top of the zone lends itself to deep fly balls. Unsurprisingly, he comes into this one with a mediocre 1.5 HR/9 ratio

Milwaukee’s American Family Field isn’t much of an upgrade on offense compared to Seattle. Per Savant, it grades out as the third-most pitcher-friendly venue in baseball. As a result, this Brewers lineup has had its struggles in the power department. They’ve smacked an MLB-worst 113 home runs this season. That’s not to say this is a bad offense; in fact, it’s quite the opposite. Milwaukee ranks fifth in runs scored (608) and third in on-base percentage (.335). However, the team’s approach at the plate depends heavily on stringing together base hits. While that often works to great success, the last few weeks haven’t been very effective. The Brew Crew has scored 37 runs over its last ten contests, eighth-worst in the league.

The Brewers will counter with a talented young arm of their own. 25-year-old Kyle Harrison has dealt with his fair share of injuries this season. However, when healthy, the southpaw has looked the part of an ace. Over 93.1 innings (19 starts), he’s delivered a 2.99 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 114 strikeouts (11.0 K/9). To boot, he’s been borderline unhittable when playing at home (1.38 ERA). Harrison, much like Miller, combines elite command with swing-and-miss stuff. He owns a 91st percentile strikeout rate (29.7%) and 82nd percentile walk rate (6.3%). The fourth-year pro, like his counterpart tonight, can give up the occasional long ball (1.3 HR/9).

Seattle does hit its fair share of dingers, ranking 16th in home runs (145). However, that’s about the only thing this offense is occasionally good for. As a unit, the Mariners rank 30th in runs scored (489) and 27th in OPS (.687). They’ve scored 133 runs since July 1st; only the Angels (116) have less during that stretch. To make matters worse, the M’s have put up the second-worst OPS vs. left-handed pitching (.646). That’s not very promising going into a matchup with Harrison, one of the league’s more talented southpaws.

Best Bet: Mariners vs. Brewers under 7.5 runs (-105)

It’s no secret that the Mariners have been awful at the plate. Facing an elite lefty in Harrison makes this group a fade tonight. With that being said, Miller is talented enough to hold his own. Milwaukee’s lack of power and tendency to work walks may not lead to much success against Seattle’s starter. Expect a low-scoring affair on Tuesday at American Family Field.
