The summer box office got quite a shot in the arm between The Odyssey and Spider-Man: Brand New Day shattering records at the end of July. But while those two blockbusters are still dominating cineplexes nationwide, some comedic counterprogramming is looking to get a piece of the action. One Night Only, starring Callum Turner and Monica Babaro, hit theaters on August 7. So how much business did the high-concept romantic comedy reel in over its first three days on the big screen?

One Night Only Box Office
One Night Only made $5.5 million at the box office between August 7 and August 9. Looking at other recent rom-coms, No Hard Feelings opened to $15.0 million in June 2023, while Materialists scored $11.3 million in June 2024 and Anyone But You – director Will Gluck’s last film – pocketed $6.0 million when it opened in December 2023.
According to Deadline, One Night Only made $1.4 million in domestic previews. That cash is technically counted as part of the film’s $2.8 million Friday gross. One Night Only posted the third-largest domestic opening weekend by a romantic comedy so far in 2026, falling short of You, Me & Tuscany‘s $7.8 million start and Solo Mio‘s $7.0 million opening.
Looking beyond the United States and Canada, there are not yet any reported international grosses for One Night Only. Anyone By You remains the highest-grossing romantic comedy of the 2020s with $219.8 million worldwide, followed by Ticket to Paradise at $168.7 million, Materialists at $106.4 million, No Hard Feelings at $83.5 million, Marry Me at $48.8 million, My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 at $38.9 million, Fly Me to the Moon $38.2 million, Book Club: The Next Chapter at $29.1 million, Eternity at $22.8 million and Bros at $14.8 million.
