Will Brock Lesnar retire at WWE SummerSlam?

One of the marquee matches on Saturday’s SummerSlam card is Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match. With this year’s SummerSlam taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, a place that is special for Lesnar, it has brought plenty of speculation about whether this will be his last match. Before SummerSlam, I break down Brock Lesnar’s future after SummerSlam below.

Is SummerSlam the end for Brock Lesnar?

After losing to Oba Femi at WrestleMania 42 in April, Brock Lesnar took off his gloves and boots and left them in the ring. Lesnar hugged Paul Heyman and was extremely emotional, making everyone believe this was it for the Beast. But then a few weeks later, Lesnar returned to attack Oba Femi.

Would it be a perfect moment if Lesnar retired in Minnesota? Yes, it would be. But after already leaving his boots and gloves in the ring less than four months ago, it would seem too soon. After over two years away, Lesnar returned at SummerSlam in 2025 and has only wrestled five times since.  Although a victory is unlikely against Femi at SummerSlam, it would still be better if they had a planned retirement match with a proper build-up, knowing it is his final one beforehand.
