WWE SummerSlam 2026 Sunday Predictions and Picks for Every Match

WWE SummerSlam 2026 Sunday Predictions and Picks for Every Match

Published:

By: Ryan Wohl

This year’s edition of SummerSlam concludes on Sunday, August 2 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. This is the 39th annual SummerSlam and the second consecutive one containing two nights.

Sunday’s SummerSlam is headlined by a highly anticipated WWE World Heavyweight Championship match between current title holder Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins. This card also features three more title matches, including the Interim Women’s Championship Ladder Match with Charlotte Flair, Tiffany Stratton, Chelsea Green, and Jade Cargill.

Below are my full predictions, picks, and analysis for every match at Sunday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 card, including quick picks for the full card, followed by a deeper breakdown of each matchup.

Check out Ryan Wohl’s predictions for Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 card.

WWE SummerSlam 2026 Sunday Quick Picks

MatchPrediction
Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins — WWE World Heavyweight Championship MatchRoman Reigns retains the World Heavyweight title.
Charlotte Flair vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Chelsea Green vs. Jade Cargill  — Interim Women’s Championship Ladder MatchCharlotte Flair wins the Interim Women’s Championship.
Penta (c) vs. Chad Gable — Intercontinental Championship MatchChad Gable wins the Intercontinental Championship.
Trick Williams (c) vs. Baron Corbin — United States Championship MatchTrick Williams retains the United States Championship.
Sami Zayn vs. Finn Balor — No. 1 Contender MatchSami Zayn defeats Finn Balor to become the No. 1 Contender.
Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio — Human Monies on a Pole MatchDominik Mysterio defeats Danhausen.

Roman Reigns (c) vs. Seth Rollins — WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins is the biggest match at SummerSlam, and it’s an amazing feud between two wrestlers whose careers will be linked forever. Reigns and Rollins made their debut alongside each other in 2012 with the Shield and have since become future Hall of Famers.

Although Seth Rollins has stated that he is undefeated against Roman Reigns in matches at premium live events, context matters. In their last match at the Royal Rumble in 2022, Rollins won the match after Reigns was disqualified for hitting him with a chair. Also, in their first singles match at Night of Champions in 2014, Rollins beat Reigns due to a count-out. So Rollins can present the narrative that Reigns needs to beat him, but in reality Rollins is and has always been chasing Reigns since the Shield ended.

Reigns has been World Heavyweight Champion since WrestleMania 42, and it isn’t the right time for it to end. Since becoming the Tribal Chief, Reigns has yet to pin Rollins. Having Reigns defeat Rollins without any outside interference would validate him and end the narrative that he can only win big matches with the help of The Bloodline.

Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins Prediction: Roman Reigns retains the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins.

Charlotte Flair vs. Tiffany Stratton vs. Chelsea Green vs. Jade Cargill  — Interim Women’s Championship Ladder Match

With Rhea Ripley sidelined due to an injury, an Interim Women’s Champion will be crowned in a ladder match at SummerSlam. This match is stacked with top-tier talent and should make for a highly entertaining contest, as most ladder matches are. To me, the favorite is 14-time Champion Charlotte Flair. Having Flair vs. Ripley in the future to unify the titles would be the biggest match that they can make.

Interim Women’s Championship Ladder Match Prediction: Charlotte Flair wins the Interim Women’s Championship.

Penta (c) vs. Chad Gable — Intercontinental Championship Match

Chad Gable portrayed “El Grande Americano” for a long time and was a heel. But after putting on an instant classic match with the new El Grande Americano, Gable has become a fan favorite. After that mask vs. mask match in Mexico, Gable is 2-0 in singles matches on Raw and won a Gauntlet match to become the No. 1 contender for the Intercontinental Championship. Penta enters this match with a 2-0 record over Gable in singles competition. Gable will take on Penta in front of his hometown crowd, as he is from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Having Gable win the Intercontinental title in Minnesota would be the ultimate feel-good moment.

Penta vs. Chad Gable Prediction: Chad Gable defeats Penta to win the Intercontinental Championship.

Trick Williams (c) vs. Baron Corbin — United States Championship Match

For months, Trick Williams was feuding with a former friend turned foe, Carmelo Hayes, and it appeared that a match between the two for the United States Championship would take place at SummerSlam. But everything changed when Baron Corbin made a shocking return and went after Williams and Hayes. Now it will be Williams vs. Corbin for the title at SummerSlam, which has the potential to be an elite match even though it was a short build. Although Corbin presents a legit threat to Williams, it doesn’t make sense for the rising star’s reign to stop here.

Trick Williams vs. Baron Corbin Prediction: Trick Williams retains the United States Championship against Baron Corbin.

Sami Zayn vs. Finn Balor — Undisputed WWE Championship No. 1 Contender Match

After beating Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed Championship at Night of Champions, Sami Zayn has lost back-to-back matches. In the past, Balor has had Zayn’s number, as he is 3-0 against him in singles competition. Zayn and Balor last faced each other in a one-on-one match in October 2021. Since Zayn had such a short title reign, it would be surprising if he didn’t defeat Finn Balor at SummerSlam. With limited opportunities since leaving the Judgment Day, Balor has shown signs of greatness, but he isn’t a focal point for WWE right now.

Sami Zayn vs. Finn Balor Prediction: Sami Zayn beats Finn Balor to become the No. 1 Contender for the Undisputed title.

Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio — Human Monies on a Pole Match

Danhausen beat JD McDonagh at Saturday Night’s Main Event a few weeks ago, and now will take on another member of the Judgment Day in Dominik Mysterio. Danhausen and Mysterio are facing each other in a Human Monies on a Pole Match. Since entering WWE, Danhausen has become one of the most popular wrestlers in the company. Even though Danhausen doesn’t wrestle often, he is still 5-0 in WWE. Over the last few months, Mysterio hasn’t been very active, and winning no matter the opponent would help restart his momentum.

Danhausen vs. Dominik Mysterio Prediction: Dominik Mysterio defeats Danhausen.

Predicted Match of the Night

It would be surprising if Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins isn’t the best match on SummerSlam’s Sunday card. The chemistry and history between Reigns and Rollins should combine to create magic and something that fans won’t forget. At the biggest events, Reigns and Rollins always level up their game, and I expect nothing less Sunday night at SummerSlam.

Final Thoughts on WWE SummerSlam 2026 Sunday

Overall, Sunday’s SummerSlam card on paper isn’t as good as Saturday’s, but it still includes four championship matches and the best match of the weekend, Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins. Also, in the past, WWE has treated the second night of their two-day premium live events as the more important one, which is why we could see a shocking return or debut on Sunday.
