WWE SummerSlam 2026 Saturday Predictions and Picks for Every Match

WWE SummerSlam 2026 Saturday Predictions and Picks for Every Match

Published:

By: Ryan Wohl

For the 39th consecutive year, WWE is hosting its annual SummerSlam premium live event! This year’s SummerSlam is taking place in Minneapolis, Minnesota, at U.S. Bank Stadium. This is the second two-night SummerSlam, as the event was traditionally one night for the first 37 years.

Saturday’s SummerSlam card is stacked with six matches, including CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship and Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi in a Hell in a Cell match. SummerSlam begins on Saturday, August 1, and is airing on ESPN Unlimited beginning at 6:00 p.m. ET.

Below are my full predictions, picks, and analysis for every match at Saturday’s WWE SummerSlam 2026 card, including quick picks for the full card, followed by a deeper breakdown of each matchup.

WWE SummerSlam 2026 Saturday Quick Picks

MatchPrediction
CM Punk (c) vs. Cody Rhodes — WWE Undisputed Championship MatchCM Punk retains the Undisputed title against Cody Rhodes.
Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi  — Hell in a Cell MatchOba Femi beats Brock Lesnar.
Gunther vs. Nick Aldis — Singles MatchGunther defeats Nick Aldis.
The Usos & Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight, Royce Keys & Solo Sikoa — Six-Man Tag Team MatchThe Usos & Jacob Fatu pick up the victory.
Liv Morgan (c) vs. IYO SKY — Women’s World Championship MatchLiv Morgan retains the Women’s World Championship.
Fatal Influence vs. The Bellas & Paige — Six-Women Tag Team MatchFatal Influence defeats The Bellas & Paige.

CM Punk (c) vs. Cody Rhodes — WWE Undisputed Championship Match

Rhodes and Punk have a long history together dating back to their first singles match in 2008. In 2008, they went 1-1 against each other in one-on-one matches. Since then, we have seen the two become friends and work alongside one another in multiple companies. On television, they have recently referenced their past and how Punk followed Rhodes from AEW to WWE. Rhodes has held the Undisputed title three times, but now the roles are reversed as Punk has the richest prize in WWE while “The American Nightmare” is on the chase.

This is a WrestleMania Main Event quality match and is one that many fans have wanted to come to fruition for many years. Now we see Punk and Rhodes facing off as top guys and at their peak form. I think Punk needs the win in this match more than Rhodes does. Although Punk is Rhodes’ elder, he is out to prove not only to Rhodes but to everyone that he still has a lot left and is still the best in the world.

So far, we have seen the WWE Undisputed Championship change hands four times and twice within the last five weeks. After Sami Zayn had a nine-day title reign, it doesn’t make much sense for Punk’s reign to last under a month.

CM Punk (c) vs. Cody Rhodes Prediction: CM Punk retains the Undisputed WWE Championship against Cody Rhodes.

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Iyo Sky — Women’s World Championship Match

Since Liv Morgan beat Stephanie Vaquer for the Women’s World title at WrestleMania 42, she has yet to defend it. Now, Liv Morgan will face Iyo Sky for the second straight time, as they last wrestled each other at Night of Champions in June. In their last match, Sky beat Morgan to become the Queen of the Ring, which also earned her a title shot. Their last match was excellent, and I expect nothing less at SummerSlam. After losing at Night of Champions, a victory for Morgan at SummerSlam is necessary to keep the title in the Judgment Day.

Liv Morgan (c) vs. Iyo Sky Prediction: Liv Morgan retains the Women’s World Championship.

Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi  — Hell in a Cell Match

The trilogy between Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi is almost here! Femi beat Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 in April, and then The Beast followed it up with a victory over The Ruler at Clash in Italy in May. This is Femi’s first Hell in a Cell Match, but Lesnar is 2-0 with two wins over The Undertaker in HITC. This is Lesnar’s 13th match at SummerSlam in his career and his first at the event since 2023. Lesnar has lost his previous four matches at SummerSlam and hasn’t won at the PLE since 2017.

As this is the final chapter of the Lesnar vs. Femi feud, a dominant win for Femi is needed in this contest. Lesnar has a strong connection to Minnesota, the location of SummerSlam, as he wrestled for the Minnesota Golden Gophers. With that being the case, there has been speculation about whether this will be Lesnar’s final match of his career. It would be a feel-good moment for Lesnar and fans in attendance, but it still seems unlikely since he already appeared to retire at WrestleMania.

Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi Prediction: Oba Femi comes out victorious inside Hell in a Cell.

Gunther vs. Nick Aldis — Singles Match

Although it previously seemed like Gunther’s progression after retiring Goldberg, John Cena and AJ Styles would have been different, a match with Nick Aldis could steal the show. This rivalry has heated up in recent weeks and has been one of the best feuds on WWE television.

Aldis isn’t just any person going from GM to wrestler. He is a former NWA World’s Heavyweight Champion and TNA World Heavyweight Champion. Also, Aldis is 39 years old, which is younger than many current WWE stars. Although this is Aldis’ first match in a WWE ring, he is extremely talented and capable of a great performance at SummerSlam. This is Aldis’ first match in nearly three years, as he last competed in October 2023.

A victory for Aldis would immediately put him in contention for a title shot, but it is still unknown whether he will continue his in-ring career after this match. I think Aldis will push Gunther to his limit, but in the end, “The Ring General” will put Aldis to sleep as he has done to many others.

Gunther vs. Nick Aldis Prediction: Gunther defeats Nick Aldis.

The Usos & Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight, Royce Keys & Solo Sikoa — Six-Man Tag Team Match

Jacob Fatu is teaming up with his cousins, The Usos, to take on Jimmy and Jey’s brother, Solo Sikoa, Royce Keys, and LA Knight. These six wrestlers have been going after each other for a long time and now will have a six-man tag team match to settle the score. The Usos have been trying to recruit their brother, Solo, back to the Bloodline, but he has been unwilling to rejoin the group. The Bloodline needs to win this match to prove that they are still the most powerful faction in WWE.

The Usos & Jacob Fatu vs. LA Knight, Royce Keys & Solo Sikoa Prediction: The Usos & Jacob Fatu pick up the victory.

Fatal Influence vs. The Bellas & Paige — Six-Women Tag Team Match

Last week, Nikki Bella made her long-awaited return to help her sister, Brie, and Paige against Fatal Influence. Fatal Influence defeated Paige and Brie Bella at Madison Square Garden to win the Women’s Tag Team titles. Even with the addition of Nikki Bella, the rising group Fatal Influence will once again get one over on the legends.

Fatal Influence vs. The Bellas & Paige Prediction: Fatal Influence defeats The Bellas & Paige.

Predicted Match of the Night

My pick for the match of the night for Saturday’s SummerSlam card is CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship. With the title on the line and two wrestlers who know each other so well, I expect both of them to push themselves to the limit, providing the fans with an unforgettable match.

Final Thoughts on WWE SummerSlam 2026 Saturday

Even though Saturday’s SummerSlam card only features two title matches, every match has an intriguing storyline going into it. Saturday’s SummerSlam card should be an excellent start for the two-day event. When having a two-day event, it is key to have moments and storylines after the first night to keep everyone excited and wondering what will happen the following night.
