What happened to Curtis Mead? Live injury updates for Red Sox vs. Athletics on 7/27/26

UPDATE: Mead has been officially diagnosed with a left wrist contusion.

In the bottom of the fifth inning of Monday’s game against the Athletics, Curtis Mead was replaced by Anthony Seigler. Mead was hit by a pitch during his second at-bat on the left wrist.

Before exiting, Mead went 0-for-1 with a strikeout.

It’s an inauspicious start for the newly acquired Mead, as he was traded to the Red Sox on Saturday.
