UPDATE: Juan Soto will undergo MRI on Saturday. There’s at least some concern over a possible IL stint, according to interim manager Andy Green.

UPDATE: Juan Soto left Wednesday’s game with “left calf soreness.”

During the sixth inning of Friday’s game between the New York Mets and the Los Angeles Dodgers, Juan Soto was removed with an injury for a pinch-hitter. It’s believed to be related to the calf injury bothering him recently.

Before leaving, New York’s superstar slugger drew two walks in two plate appearances. He was replaced by Jorge Polanco.

Soto, 27, continues to excel at the plate for the Mets despite their dire season. He leads the National League in on-base percentage and OPS+, numbers that will only go up after Friday night. The injury has affected his productivity after pushing for a 40-40 season last year, and the outfielder has 21 home runs with only seven stolen bases this season. With the Mets’ season spiraling out of control, New York’s staff will be awfully cautious with his injury.

Since Soto had more than one plate appearance, he will not be eligible for DraftKings Early Exit.
